11-goal star perfect signing for Chelsea – Powerhouse ‘heading back to Chelsea – Argentine keen on move

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic would be a ‘perfect’ signing for Chelsea, talkSPORT has been told.

The Serbian Powerhouse been in lethal form for the newly-promoted side this term, scoring a staggering 11 goals in 15 Premier League appearances

Chelsea have really struggled for goals this season – as Armando Broja is out injured while German Kai Havertz is not the main striker that the club need to compete for the big trophies.

Mitrovic is moving into the prime years of his playing career and based on his current form – and there has been some rumours in the media that Chelsea could be open to a move for the striker.

And amid all the speculation and the rumours – Micky Gray believes the Fulham striker would be the answer to the Blues’ struggles going forward

He Tweeted: Chelsea need an out-and-out striker. What’s wrong with Mitrovic?”

“He’s perfect for #CFC right now!”

IcFootballnews View…

Mitrovic has proven himself to be a very dangerous and quality striker in the Premier League – he is more than ready to play for one of the big teams – he could score alot more goals.

However – if Chelsea signed the big man they would have to change the way the play – and with the new players that are coming in – the way that Graham Potter likes to play the game – they would have to completely change the way they play the game.

So even though he could be a very dangerous player for Potter to have – he is not the type of manager that would play the long ball way – we cant see this move happening.

However – Mitrovic deserves to be at a big club and we can see him leaving Fulham in the next couple of windows – especially if he continues scoring the goals that he has been this season for Fulham.

Lukaku on way back?

Alan Hutton has suggested Romelu Lukaku will struggle to get back into the Chelsea team when he returns to Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku was signed by just over 12 months ago as Thomas Tuchel was desperate to add a world class striker to the attack – and many had hoped that the Belgian would be a massive success

But despite scoring a few goals – putting in a few solid performances – he looked nothing like the striker that banged in goals for fun at Inter Milan – and last summer – the Blues allowed him to leave on loan back to the Italian giants

And since his move back to Inter – he has now made it clear that he would like to stay in Italian football and was hoping that a deal could be struck between Chelsea and Milan.

The striker’s contract at Chelsea runs until 2026 and although that he would like to stay at the Italians – Hutton has opened up and claimed that he will struggle to make an impact at Stamford Bridge on his return to the club

“I would imagine he will come back,” he told Football Insider.

“That will obviously be the end of the loan so he will have to come back at least for a period of time.

“I think it is up to him to then go and prove himself to Potter.

“As a player you can sit and say you do not like this manager and that manager but you have signed to the club for a number of years. So it is going to be up to him to prove himself.

“It has not worked at Inter Milan, the World Cup did not work for him either. So it is up to him to go and prove everybody else wrong.”

Reporter Stanley believes that letting Lukaku leave the club on a permanent basis would be the right idea – as he cant handle the Premier League – he told IcFootballnews: ‘Lukaku had everything to be the deadliest striker in the Premier League – but he cant handle the pace.

‘He looked nothing like the man that fired goals on a weekly basis for Milan and it was the right decision to let him leave – even though a replacement was not really found.

‘Potter would have no idea how to use Lukaku if he was brought back to the club – he would get frustrated at the way the Belgian plays – it would not be a good idea to offer him another chance at Stamford Bridge.

‘If the reports are true and Chelsea will decide to bring him back – it will cause more trouble than it is worth and honestly – it could be a massive mistake – he needs to stay put or get sold.’

Pochettino eyes move –

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is open to taking over at Chelsea if the club sack Graham Potter

After Establishing himself as one of the best young managers in the Premier League while with Brighton – American owner Ted Boehly made the big decision to hands him the chance to manage Chelsea.

Boehly had just sacked Thomas Tuchel after a poor start to the new season – and knew that many had tipped Potter to manage one of the big clubs in the Premier League – and after the start Brighton had to the new season – believed he was the man to take the club forward.

But after a good start to life at Stamford Bridge – Potter saw his Chelsea side start to struggle before the Work cup and they could not keep clean sheets – to score goals and to play the football that fans have enjoyed watching over the past few seasons.

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly interested in taking over at the Blues if it were to become available and is “pushing for the job” behind the scenes

Pochettino has already managed two Premier League clubs – Tottenham and Southampton – and it was believed his affiliation to Spurs would prevent him from joining another London club.

But The Sun say Pochettino would be willing to take over at Chelsea, with the Argentine still owning a house in London and spending a lot of time in the English capital.

However – reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that it would be harsh to sack Potter.

Graham Potter has literally just walked through the door,” he said

I think Graham Potter signed up for a project. He is going to have to put his own stamp on the team. He has still not even really been able to do that.

It is very very harsh to be talking about him leaving right now.

“However – this Chelsea board have big plans for the club and if Potter continues to pick up the losses rather than the wins – then he will keep edging towards the door at Stamford Bridge.”
