£111M ‘would be great signing’ for Chelsea – Star tells Blues to pay £52M – Chelsea encouraged sign Ligue 1 star
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –
Spanish midfielder has told the likes of Chelsea that they must meet his £52 million asking price if a transfer deal will get done this transfer window.
The 25-year-old Spain international is continuing to excel at Red Bull Leipzig and has a clause that becomes active this summer when he can leave for £52million.
Olmo signed a new contract last June which runs until 2027 but the clause means a number of suitors are now assessing whether he could fit into their plans for the summer.
Manchester City, Man United and Tottenham are also among the clubs who continue to keep an eye on Olmo’s progress, particularly with his ability to play on either flank or off the striker.
It is no secret that CHELSEA FC will be in need of adding to that squad over the next few months as the current side will not be good enough to compete for that Champions League spots next season.
Olmo’s current contract contains a £52 million release clause but that is due to expire on July 20: ‘My people know what I want to do… I have too much to do with the Euros to be thinking about other things,’ he said. ‘I have a contract with Leipzig and we have a very good relationship. There will be no problem.
‘My 60 million clause until July 20? You know what you have to do,’ he said. ‘If not, you’ll have to fight a little later.’

There are some big names chasing the young man – he really is a quality player that is just about to come into his prime – it would be a wise decision from Chelsea to get a deal done.
£52 million is not alot of money to spend on a player these days in football – and considering CHELSEA are missing someone like Olmo in that side – there is easily some space for him to shine.
DAVID MESSAGE SENT –
Former Blues star Frank Lebeouf has told Chelsea that Lille striker Jonathan David could be signed this summer for not alot of money.
The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for CHELSEA over the past few months, as the Blues will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack when the summer transfer window opens up.
Ivan Toney of Brentford and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are two other players that the Blues are interested in – but David would represent a cheaper alternative to the other two as his valuations is only about £50 million.
Lebouef told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Euro 2024 Betting: ‘Chelsea should look at Lens and Lille for cheaper strikers – over the last ten years they have got their business for strikers bang on and sold them for big profit.
‘Jonathan David and Lois Openda have been superb in the French league over the years and they did not cost a lot.’
David recently provided an update on his future during his latest interview with French media lavoixdunord.
“I have a year left in my contract and frankly, I am not thinking about it. There were rumours in the past, but I will stay at Lille until I sign for another club,” said the Canadian striker.
His contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 but the striker is not aware of negotiations between his agent and the club.
“I don’t know if the club has spoken to my agent,” he said.
“Surely we’ll do it at the end of the season. There are important games remaining, and I want to focus on the pitch.”

CHELSEA will need to make sure that they sign players that can make an immediate impact – big named players that will send a message to the rest of the Premier League – David is very good – but is he better than Nicolas Jackson?
OSIMHEN CLAIM MADE –
Victor Osimhen would be a great signing for Chelsea – Ex Blues star Frank Lebeouf has claimed
Osimhen is a player that CHELSEA have been linked with for the last few windows – but have a real chance of finally getting a potential deal done this summer, if they pay the right amount of money.
Napoli are open to selling Osimhen – the striker has admitted he wants to leave and the premier League is somewhere he would like to be playing – Which is why Chelsea have been tipped to secure a transfer deal.
However – his £111 million asking price has stopped most clubs from making a move for the striker – which has led to alot of rumours that a move to Saudi Arabia is now on the agenda for the big man.
But with Chelsea still keen on adding a striker to the squad this summer – Leboeuf says that Osimhen could be a great signing for the Blues – he told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Euro 2024 Betting: ‘I really rate Victor Osimhen and I feel he would be a great, great striker for Chelsea
. ‘He’s so strong, good in the air. I know he had some issues last season, but he can take on players and is a natural goal-scorers
Reporter Iomie Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘Look, there has been some world class players linked with a move to CHELSEA over the past few months – but Osimhen is one of the elite strikers in the game and a man that would send a statement to the rest of the Premier League.
‘If Chelsea are prepared to pay big money for the man – they would be getting a 30 goals a season striker.’
