£150M star reveals why he joined Chelsea, President gives green light Chelsea sign £85M star, Striker addresses Chelsea rumours

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed…

England International Cole Palmer has opened up and revealed that the plan was not to join Chelsea on a permanent move from Manchester City, but revealed why he mad ethe decision to officially leave the Premier League Champions.

The highly talented 22-year-old attacking midfielder, has rapidly made a name for himself at CHELSEA since his move from Manchester City in 2023 and is the man at Stamford Bridge that Enzo Maresca will really rely on over the next 12 months.

He has recently signed a massive new contract at Chelsea – but Whether he actually stays at Chelsea for a decade remains to be seen – but the player has now come out and claimed why a move to Chelsea happened on a permanent basis,  speaking to GQ, he said: “I wasn’t even gonna go [to] Chelsea. I got persuaded.” He then nodded to his manager when asked who persuaded him to move.

“I just knew I wasn’t going to play as much as I wanted to. Even when I was going to England [camps] with younger age groups, you had players there who were playing in the league every week.

“And you’re looking around thinking, I can play in the league. When you’re not playing, it’s annoying.”

He added: “No – do you know what, I just wanted to go on loan… “I remember training on a Wednesday at City in the afternoon, and the news was ‘they’re trying to agree a fee.’

“Every time the ball went out I’d ask the kit man or the doctor if they’ve agreed the fee yet. “So I didn’t really get a chance to see many people and say I’m going. I just had to get my stuff.

“I messaged the group chat, said ‘Thanks and everything. I’m gone.’ That was it.”

That massive new contract that Palmer has just signed means that CHELSEA do not have to sell the midfielder – and we fully expect him to stay at the Bridge for the next few seasons – but all we can say is that Chelsea were very lucky to get the player – he is surely now one of the best attacking stars in the Premier League.

ISAK SPEAKS ON FUTURE

Long-standing CHELSEA fc transfer target Alexander Isak has addressed the rumours that he could leave Newcastle United in the coming windows amid all the cpeculation surrounding his current contract position.

Isak has been talked about as a player that will make that next step in his career and move to the likes of Chelsea or Arsenal, who have been linked with a transfer move for the big man for the past 6 months, but are put off by his £100 million asking price.

However – speculation over a possible move away from Newcastle has gathered pace over the past few weeks, as rumours have emerged which have suggested that there have been some issues in agreeing a new contract at Newcastle.

Now, amid all that rumours, Isak has opened up and addressed all the speculation – on the transfer rumours, he told Fotbol Skanalen: “Throughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season. There have been many such years where it has been talked about. It doesn’t affect me.

“I am commenting on my situation in Newcastle, and I have never had any problem there. I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season. There are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else.”

When asked about his representatives allegedly being frustrated with Newcastle, he added: “The only thing I can say is that a lot of information and rumours often come out. Much of what I read is not true. So that’s about all I can say about the whole thing.”

Look, Newcastle must know that the right offer will tempt Isak into leaving the club, he wants Champions League football, he wants to challenge for trophies, he wants to be at the very top of the game.

Newcastle was always going to be a stepping stone for the man, so if he does not agree a new contract, the Toon board needs to make sure they can get the most money out of the likes of CHELSEA and Arsenal

CHELSEA GREEN LIGHT TO SIGN GYOKERES GIVEN?

Sporting president Varandas has been speaking on the future of CHELSEAtarget Victor Gyokeres, and revealed whether the Sporting Lisbon forward will depart the club when the January transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time

This season, he has already scored 16 goals in just 10 League appearances, recently bagging a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League and continuing to make a real name for himself at the Portuguese giants.

the likes of Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea are just three clubs that are reportedly ready to splash the cash and bring the in-demand striker to the Premier League, and it is looking much more likely that a transfer happens after the departure of Amorim.

Amorim’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya revealed in the summer that Gyokeres was only at Sporting because of Amorim, and there has been some suggestions that the striker may be open to the idea of leaving Sporting when the transfer window opens up in January.

Now, the Sporting president has suggested that the striker could leave the club at the end of the season. As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Vandaras said: “I can’t promise anything. If a club arrives and pays the release clause, if he (Gyokeres) wants to go, he will go. But I do not think this will happen in January.”

Where Will Gyokeres Go?

There has been may clubs linked with the player and CHELSEA are one of the sides that are willing to splash some serious money in order to get a transfer deal done, but so are Arsenal and Man United.

United are favourites because that is where Amorim is, but it will all come down to money and who offers the most, but it is looking more and more likely that Gyokeres does come to the Premier League that is for sure.

However – it may be a mistake to leave the Giants in the middle of the season and we are sure that a move in the summer is much more likely to happen for the player.
