£25M star sends first message after making huge Arsenal transfer decision

Aaron Ramsdale has joined Southampton in a permanent transfer – the Gunners board have announced on deadline day after months of speculation about where he would end up this summer.

Going into the summer window Ramsdale knew that he was no longer wanted at ARSENAL – he was not longer needed and was just waiting for the right club to make the right offer in order to get a deal done.

But he had to wait until deadline day to get the move that he desired as Southampton came calling with an opportunity that he could not turn down and he quickly made the decision to leave the Gunners for the Saints.

And after making that move – Aaron Ramsdale said: “I’m absolutely delighted. The way the manager wants to play, the way he was when I spoke to him, he was just full of so much enthusiasm. I’d never met him before, but he made me feel about eight feet tall, which is just what you want.

“Coming back down to the south coast as well for me and my family, it would be an easier transition than most, so I feel like I can hit the ground running.

“I’m looking forward to this year, just getting back to what I do best and having a big smile on my face while doing it here.”

Ramsdale is a top stopper that will perform brilliantly for the Saints – it is a very good move for the star to make and one that he will enjoy – ARSENAL fans will wish him all the best for his services, he done nothing wrong for the club during his stay.

But he just was not the type of stopper that Arteta wanted in his side – it is as simple as that.
