Blues fans will love this after £100 million rated Jadon Sancho makes big Chelsea claim
Jadon Samcho has admitted he wanted to emulate the likes of Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, amid the Blues transfer interest.
The 19-year-old England international, who left Manchester City to join the Bundesliga outfit in 2017, emerged as a top summer target for Chelsea, but Dortmund refused to sell and Chelsea were unable to make a firm offer as they were suspended from doing any deals.
But recent reports from Germany have handed the likes of Chelsea a massive boost in the chase to try and sign up the young Englishman, as Dortmund have identified Hertha winger Javairo Dilrosun and Valencia’s Ferran Torres as possible replacements for the creative force.
They also claim that Sancho is expected to leave Dortmund and the German club will use the £130m fee Barcelona paid for Ousmane Dembele as a benchmark figure for the England international.
And the Blues may now have the upper hand in negotiations after the teenager revealed the Stamford Bridge icons were two of his favourite stars growing up.
The England ace told The Independent: “Ronaldinho was the main guy I used to watch on YouTube.
“But I liked Frank Lampard quite a lot and Didier Drogba when they were playing for Chelsea.
“They were the three players I looked up to.”
The lad is a creative force and was one of the top assist players in Europe last season, and considering Chelsea are seeking an immediate ready-made replacement for Eden Hazard, could Sancho be the answer to their problems?
It will just be a matter of if boss Lampard is willing to spend so much money on the exciting young man when his already talented attack is starting to click and put in some stunning performances, will he be needed?
However, with reports suggesting that Willian will not be handed a new contract and Pedro seemingly on his way out of the club due to his lack of game time, adding some fresh meat could be a priority for Lampard as he will definitely need to improve the attack if those two players do leave the club.
SO IF HE IS LOOKING TO STRENGTHEN IN THE JANUARY WINDOW, MANY FANS WOULD SURELY BE EXCITED ABOUT THE PROSPECT OF SEEING SANCHO ARRIVE AT THE CLUB?
