£40 million attacker ‘will be fantastic signing’ for Liverpool, Klopp told £100 million will get deal done and Fabinho makes Salah claim
£100 million to sign Koulibaly, Sarr would be great Liverpool signing and Fabinho says Salah is happy in Liverpool roundup….
Ismaila Sarr should remain an option on Liverpool’s recruitment radar, says John Barnes.
Sarr has been impressing at Watford for more than 12 months now and was actually linked with a transfer move to Anfield in the summer, but Jurgen Klopp opted to bring the imressive Diogo Jota to the club instead.
However, there has been more reports that he is back on the radar of the Liverpool boss, and It has been suggested that £40 million ($54m) may be required in order to prise Sarr from Vicarage Road, but Barnes believes that would be money well spent if Klopp looks to land another exciting forward.
The ex-Reds and Hornets midfielder told BonusCodeBets when asked if a move for Sadio Mane’s international colleague should be made: “Yes, if he wanted to be one of the front three, but, and I’ve said this before, we need a centre-back.
“Although a great player and looking forward he’d be fantastic player to have as part of the team, it’s not what we need at this very moment in time.
“If they want to sign him as a long-term investment, then I think that’s great. But right now, this very season, we need to strengthen our defence so to find suitable players for this should be the priority.”
Look, Sarr is a very gifted player, but with all the attacking quality that Liverpool have right now, do they actually need to delve into that transfer kitty and splash £40 million on the winger?
Brazilian midfielder Fabinho has opened up and revealed that Mohamed Salah is actually very happy at Liverpool
Despite being a big part of the Liverpool squad and a major player for Jurgen Klopp, There has been some shock speculation in the media over the past few days which have suggested that Salah is eager to leave the club.
Salah has hinted that he would be open to linking up with Barcelona or Real Madrid at some stage in the future, with exit doors being left ajar at Anfield, and Liverpool have been told that they need to sign a superstar as a replacement for the attacker.
But amid the speculation, Fabinho has come out and told Liverpool fans that Salah is very happy at Anfield: “Big players will always have their names involved in rumours. Salah plays for Liverpool, one of the biggest teams in the world. I think it’s normal to see his name linked to other teams, especially from different leagues,” Fabinho told ESPN Brasil.
“Anyway, I see him very happy here and pleased with his performances this season. He’s very demanding with himself, he wants to be the best, he wants to help the team and works hard for it.
“It’s always been the case and it hasn’t changed at all. He keeps scoring goals, which everyone is used to seeing. In the changing room he’s always talking to everyone and making jokes.
“I don’t see anything affecting him. Overall, I am not following the news so I’m not sure about any rumours. As I said, top quality players will always be linked to big clubs.”
Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has warned the likes of Liverpool they must offer at least £100m if they want to sign Kalidou Koulibaly this month.
Koulibaly is easily regarded as one of the most powerful and dominant players in the Italian Leagues, and has developed into one of the most impressive defenders in world football, which has alerted all the biggest clubs.
There has been alot of speculation that Liverpool are still very much interested in trying to sign Koulibaly, should he come onto the market, and are plotting to make a move at the end of the season, if you believe all the reports.
But Koulibaly, whose contract expires in summer 2023, has played in 18 games for Napoli this season, helping keep seven clean sheets, will not come cheap, as the likes of Liverpoolfc have been warned that they will have to pay close to £100 million to secure a transfer deal
De Laurentiis spoke to Jim White, and the Sky Sports News’ presenter relayed his conversation on talkSPORT.
“This morning, I spoke to Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Napoli owner, and said what about your player, are there bids in for him? He laughed it off saying he’s not for sale.
“It seems on this occasion Koulibaly is going nowhere. He stays and that was as recent as this morning. Anyone going in with anything other than £100million for Koulibaly can forget it.
“He’s absolutely not for sale unless one of the big clubs in England come up with £100million.”
Koulibaly is world class, there is no doubt about that, but Liverpool should never spend £100 million on a man, he is not worth more than Virgil Van Dijk
