£40M star ‘expected to join’ West Ham IMMINENTLY – Hammers in striker contact – West Ham favourites for Dutchman

Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed –

WEST HAM. are the front-runners to sign very impressive Dutchman from London rivals.

Maatsen had a very good season with Burnley last year and impressed while out on loan – so much so – that the club wanted to make his move away from Stamford Bridge a permanent one.

However – he has revealed that he has a desire to stay and fight for his place at CHELSEA – despite the fact he has plenty of competition in that Chelsea side against the likes of Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella and Lewis Hall.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

According to a fresh update from the Evening Standard, Maatsen will be utilised as either a left winger or No 10 if retained at Chelsea next year, and the Blues hope to tie Maatsen down to a new contract.

But before the Dutchman will pen fresh terms, he reportedly wants ‘assurances over his development plan at Chelsea’ and whether or not he will get the game time that he needs.

And if he does decide to turn down a new contract with the club – it has been reported that West Ham are favourites to get a transfer deal done for the Dutchman.

WOULD A MOVE TO WEST HAM BE A GOOD ONE TO MAKE?

Maatsen is certainly a talent that has options if he does choose to leave Chelsea – but at the end of the day – if he wants to keep on improving, he may need to leave the Blues.

He will play some games this coming season – but not enough to make a big impact and if he joined a club like WEST HAM – he would get alot more minutes on the pitch that is for sure.

SOLANKE CONTACT –

West Ham United have made contact with Bournemouth about signing Dominic Solanke to replace Gianluca Scamacca,

Scamacca joined WEST HAM in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £35 million and David Moyes had hoped that the Italian would be the man that could score 20 goals a season.

However – he failed to live upto the hype for West Ham and did not impress like many had hoped for, and that had led to many reports in the media that he wants to leave the Premier League and make a move back to Italian football.

Inter Milan were the latest name to show an interest in getting Scamacca and have even made a move to get a deal done, according to Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano,

However – it seems that he will not be making the move to Inter and will instead join rivals Atalanta, and now it seems that West Ham are lining up a possible replacement for the Italian.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

According to The Mirror, West Ham have contacted Bournemouth about a possible deal for Solanke this summer.

Solanke hit six Premier League goals last season as he helped the Cherries to survival against all the odds, and his skillset is similar to that of Scamacca, so the reports suggests that he is seen as the idea replacement for the departing ace.

WILL SOLANKE BE A GOOD SIGNING?

If the Hammers are interested in signing Solanke as the replacement for Scamacca – they will be getting a very good squad member.

He is not a man that can score 20-goals a season – has never been that type of player – but he is a player that will add depth.

WEST HAM should be trying to sign a forward that will make an impact – but they are getting desperate as it seems that most of their targets dont want the move.

ALVAREZ TO JOIN –

It has been claimed in the Dutch media that West Ham are very quickly closing in on the signing of Ajax star Edson Alvarez

WEST HAM have been doing no business in the transfer market this summer – they have not signed anybody that can come in and help improve the side for the start of next season.

However – it is expected that the board will look to get some transfer business done in the coming weeks – and Alvarez is a player that West Ham have been eyeing up for some time.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

The 25-year-old Mexican international has spent the last four seasons in Amsterdam, racking up 147 appearances for the club and scoring 13 goals while winning two Eredivisie titles.

According to De Telegraaf, a deal to bring Edson Alvarez to West Ham is expected to go through quickly, and that the Mexico international could be set to sign for the Hammers imminently.

The reports add that The midfielder is open to the move with David Moyes keen to bring the player to the London Stadium this summer.

If the reports are actually true and Alvarez is heading to West Ham this summer – they will be getting a very good player that will help fill the void of Declan Rice.

Alot has been said alot the quality of Alvarez in the last couple of windows, with the likes of Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool and even Tottenham all showing an interest at some point.

£40 million is a decent amount of money for the player and honestly – it is a move for him that will improve his game, as coming from the Dutch League can be more difficult if you play for one of the big six sides.

Great signing for WEST HAM when he officially arrives.
