£50m defender wants to join Arsenal, Striker reveals why he signed Man United deal, and Chelsea offer £70m-plus striker to complete stunning deal in news of the day
Ben White wants to join Arsenal, Cavani make Man United admission and Chelsea make massive Haaland offer in news of the day…
Reports have again claimed that Chelsea have officially submitted an offer to sign Erling Haaland this transfer window.
Chelsea have just got back inside that top four and won the Champions League title, But Tuchel knows that he needs to keep adding to the squad over the course of the window as Manchester City will be stronger next season.
That has led to a whole load of rumours that Tuchel wants to add another striker and midfielder to the squad, with a number of world class players linked, with the latest reports claiming that Chelsea have opened talks with Erling Haaland about a new deal
Holding midfielder Jorginho ended 2020/21 as their top scorer in the Premier League with seven penalties and Thomas Tuchel wants to recruit a true goal-getter for a title push next season.
Now, According to a report from Italian-based journalist Ekrem Konuir, Chelsea have lodged a bid for Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland, and The report suggests that the European champions have offered £60m (€70m), as well as current blues striker Tammy Abraham in part exchange.
Abraham is very highly-rated by Chelsea but his future is in serious doubt as he cannot get into that Blues starting line-up and he has been linked with a move away from Chelsea for months now.
But even if they did land Haaland, his arrival would present other problems at Stamford Bridge. That’s because The Guardian says Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola would demand wages of £300,000 per week for the striker.
That is way short of the world’s top earners, like Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo, but would still shatter Chelsea’s current wage structure.
Chelsea fans are getting excited about the possible arrivals that could arrive at the club in the coming windows, but if they do get their top transfer target, they will be a real force next season
Haaland is already one of the most deadly strikers in world football and adding him to the squad will send a real message to the rest of the Premier League that the club are looking to win this Premier League title
Edinson Cavani has opened up and revealed just why he opted to stay at Manchester United this summer
The 34-year-old has been in impressive form in recent weeks, scoring eight and assisting three in his last seven games, so it is no surprise Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been desperate to keep him.
And after months of speculation, the striker has agreed to stay at the club until the end of next season, a move that shocked many in the media that believed he would be heading back to South American to finish off his playing days
Cavani is currently at the Copa America with Uruguay and the striker says that his ambition to play for his country at the Qatar World Cup, as well as the promising squad at Old Trafford, was enough to convince him to stay at United.
‘I decided to play there for one more year. I think there’s a good team which is one reason to stay,’ said Cavani.
‘There were negotiations. My brother (and agent) had some chats … things that happen in football, they’re normal.
‘There’s nothing certain, but I think at some point I’ll come back to South America, I’ll play here.
‘Honestly, that’s what I’m thinking. I believe every human being’s life is based on objectives, on desires you want to achieve, on arriving at certain goals.
‘From a football perspective my aim at the national team level, and in general, is to go to the World Cup in Qatar and from there to step aside and dedicate myself to my family, my people, my things.
‘I think this is the last dance.’
It was a big decision for United to keep hold of the man, but if they can keep him fit, he will be a fantastic asset to have in the squad next season
Brighton star Ben White wants to move to Arsenal in the summer, amid speculation the Gunners are keen on a deal.
The Brighton defender, 23, enjoyed a fine debut Premier League season this term, and he was rewarded for his form by replacing the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in England’s final 26-man squad for Euro 2020.
Brighton are unsurprisingly desperate to keep hold of the Three Lions star beyond this summer, but it has led to alot of speculation that Arsenal are very much interested in trying to get a transfer deal done.
Mikel Arteta has just lost David Luiz after he failed to agree a new contract at the Emirates, meaning that the Spaniard will need to delve into that transfer kitty and add a new defender to that back-line.
Recent reports have claimed that Arsenal are now ready to meet the £50 million asking price that has been placed on the head of White to get a transfer deal wrapped up.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, White appears to be among the Gunners’ top targets for the summer transfer window and he is very much interested in making that move to the Emirates.
The Seagulls are going to demand around £50m to let the England international go, but the defender could look to force a move away from the Amex Stadium.
White is certainly a player that has proven himself in the Premier League and is now ready to make that step up and join one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
Arsenal would be the idea move for the player, as they lack quality at the back. But if the reports are true and Brighton will not let him leave the club for less than £50 million, he may be out the price range of the Gunners.
But if the Gunners are ready to pay that kind of money to get a deal done, he would be a brilliant signing for the club
