Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed guys –

West Ham should not sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Man United as he would not fix their ailing defence.

According to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus – West Ham should not make a move for Wan-Bassika in the January window and should instead look to sign him at the end of the season

“Him going to West Ham? Maybe not, for me,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“West Ham need defenders in, central defenders especiallyWan-Bissaka does have a good tackle on him but if you are signing him you are signing him to be a wing-back.

“He’s at his best near the opposition box so I’m not sure how much help he will actually give to the defence.

“He would cost a bit of money too so if they are looking at him, I think they should be looking to spend big elsewhere.

“If he still wants a move in the summer then that is when to go for him.”

Rice claim made –

Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Chelsea target Declan Rice is “100% gone” in the summer despite David Moyes plan to keep him at West Ham

Over the past few seasons Declan Rice has developed into one of the best players at the club – and one of the most impressive midfielders that the Premier League has to offer.

He really is the leader at the Hammers and a man that they are hoping to keep at the club for as long as they are possibly too – but that has not stopped speculation regarding his long-term future at the club

Chelsea fc are continuing to be linked with a move for the England International – and it is believed that Rice has already made up his mind about leaving the Hammers after rejecting the clubs massive contract offer

Now – amid all the speculation – Agbonlahor has opened up and claimed that Rice will 100 per cent be gone in the summer transfer window – Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “I think he’s 100% gone in the summer.

“Now it just becomes about getting the best deal for the club.

“I can see him at Chelsea – maybe that’s why Jorginho is being allowed to move on.

“I just don’t see him staying any longer. Sometimes players outgrow a football club, and it’s pretty clear that Rice has bigger aspirations than what West Ham are capable of.”

The Hammers fans love Rice – he is one of the best players in the Premier League – but would they really be upset if he decided that now is the right time to leave the club and look for Champions League football?

There will be some big offers – there will be alot of money exchanged – lets see what happens

Bassika open to move –

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is open to signing for West Ham permanently, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Wan-Bassika joined Man United for a fee of £50 million three years ago after making a real name for himself in the Premier League – but he has not yet been able to become the signing that the club had hoped for

It was suggested in the summer that West Ham were keen to take him to London Stadium on loan or on a more permanent basis – as David Moyes wanted a bit more cover for that area of the pitch

Wan-Bissaka remained with Man United in the end though, after new boss Erik Ten Hag failed to sign a replacement – but it seems that he is no longer in the plans of the former Ajax boss.

Asked whether a permanent move to the London Stadium could be on the cards, Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “It all depends on West Ham.

“With Wan-Bissaka, everyone knows what sort of defender he is so what sort of defender do West Ham want?

“Do they want a defender who is no-nonsense and nobody beats? Or, do they want a defender with quality who can get balls into Scamacca and the attacking players?

“That’s what you’ve got to decide when you’re looking at Wan-Bissaka and that’s what West Ham have got to decide.

“I’m sure that he will be looking at more of a permanent move because he just hasn’t had a sniff at Man United.”
