Former Chelsea star Marcos Alonso is reportedly keen to make the move to Manchester United this summer, after reports emerged which claimed that Erik Ten Hag is very interested in bring him to Old Trafford.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are reportedly eyeing yet another defender as they navigate the summer transfer window and has indicated that a prominent free agent is eager to join the Red Devils, despite having spent six years at one of their biggest Premier League rivals.
The 33-year-old spent six seasons at Chelsea and helped the club win six major trophies including the Premier League, the Champions League and the Europa League.
He then made the decision to leave Chelsea and make the move to Barcelona – where he become a regular fixture for the Spanish side under boss Xavi Hernandez – but they opted to let his contract run down and he is now a free agent.
And according to recent reports on the TalkSport website, Alonso is one of the names on Manchester United’s shortlist alongside Feyenoord’s David Hancko and Tyrick Mitchell, who has just a year left on his contract with Crystal Palace.
Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – Fabrizio Romano has opened up and claimed that Alonso would love to make the move to Man United – Speaking to GiveMeSport Romano said: “Marcos Alonso would love to go to Manchester United,” declared Romano. “He has been offered to Manchester United in recent weeks, but there is nothing really concrete or advanced into it so far.
“I think Manchester United will take some time before deciding who the player they really want to cover that position is, and will save their budget, save their money, and put their effort into a deal for the midfield.
“They need a new midfielder, and the idea is to make it happen as the next step in the summer transfer window.”

If Erik Ten Hag is looking to add some depth to the side to help cover injuries etc, then signing Alonso could make sense for Manchester United as at this stage of his career, he is not prepared to play every game every week.

However – amid all the speculation and rumours – paul Parker is urging Manchester United to cool their interest, pointing to the fact Berge got relegated from the Premier League with both Burnley and Sheffield United.

UGARTE WANTS TO JOIN NOW –
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has opened up and claimed that PSG star Manuel Ugarte is keen to join Manchester United now, but the Red Devils cannot agree a fee with the French giants.
Ugarte, 23, joined the French club from Sporting last summer after spending the previous two-and-a-half seasons in Portugal. He moved to Europe from South America as a teenager, months after debuting for the senior Uruguay side
While he was a first-team regular during the first-half of the season under Luis Enrique, he lost his place in the side in the second-half of the season.
PSG are eager to recoup the £51m they spent on the 23-year-old with Fabrizio Romano recently reporting that a number of clubs are very much interested in trying to get a bargain transfer deal done this summer.
It has been claimed that The Uruguay midfielder agreed personal terms with the Red Devils last month, and United remain in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a fee, with a loan including an obligation to buy a possibility.
Speaking on his YouTube Channel Romano said: “Ugarte wants to join now. Ugarte is pushing to make his move to Manchester United. Now it’s on Man Utd and PSG, with a contract conversation with constant contact ongoing,”

But despite the reports that he has been offered to many clubs – it looks like the player would like to make the move to Manchester and join United – they are seemingly leading the chase for the player.
