Chelsea working on another signing – Nkunku has agreed move and stunning Pulisic claim made in Chelsea news of the day –

It has been claimed that Chelsea are now working on a deal to sign Josko Gvardiol after agreeing to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig

Nkunku was one of the standout stars in the Bundesliga last season, netting 20 goals and laying on 13 assists, while he has already notched six times in the 2022/23 campaign.

And According to The Athletic, Chelsea have agreed to pay far in excess of £45 now in order to beat off competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs and already have a full agreement in place with the player.

As part of the arrangement, Chelsea have committed to paying Leipzig a price in excess of the £52.7million release clause that becomes active next summer.

What is the latest?

And now the Telegraph has claimed that Chelsea are now keen to bring his team-mate Gvardiol to the club – and are already working on an agreement in a bid to beat off their transfer rivals

Although the Blues spent big to sign Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer, there are still concerns over the defence particularly with Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta in the twilights of their careers.

Gvardiol would be a more natural fit in the left-sided centre-back role – with Graham Potter preferring a back three formations just like predecessor Thomas Tuchel – and would inject more young blood into the back-line

There will not be players at Chelsea that Potter really wants to keep hold of – and players that he believes will not be good enough to play the kind of football that he desires

It will be interesting to see just who he goes for when the winter transfer window opens up – as he will surely be given some money to spend

But it is interesting to see that one player that Ted Boehly wanted in the summer is the same one that Potter may go for – it suggests who is doing all the transfer business for the club

That is probably why Tuchel lost a bit of his spark – he was losing control of the players that were coming and going

Nkunku on way –

Christopher Nkunku has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Chelsea and will move to Stamford Bridge next summer – it has been claimed in the media

Graham Potter has signed a five-year deal at Chelsea after the club decided to get rid of German boss Thomas Tuchel after an indifferent start to the new season.

The former Brighton boss has reportedly been assured by owner Todd Boehly that he will be given plenty of time to implement his plans for the role.

And that has led to speculation in the media that Chelsea have been keen to secure the services of Nkunku after failing to sign the attacker during the summer transfer window – despite numerous offers

But now it seems that Chelsea have agreed to bring the player to the Premier League after it was claimed that he has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Blues

According to The Athletic, Chelsea have agreed to pay far in excess of that figure now in order to beat off competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs and already have a full agreement in place with the player.

As part of the arrangement, Chelsea have committed to paying Leipzig a price in excess of the £52.7million release clause that becomes active next summer.

If the reports are true and Chelsea have agreed to sign the player – then he will be a brilliant signing for the club – but also a risk

The Bundesliga is not the Premier League and we have seen the likes of Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic move to the English game and flop – so that is the risk

But if they can get the best out of the lad – they have a player that can score goals on a regular basis guys

Pulisic claim made –

Frank McAvennie has suggested Christian Pulisic will leave Chelsea if he is not in Graham Potter’s plans for the season.

The American star was hailed as one of the best and most exciting young wingers in world football – and his performances for Borussia Dortmund lead to Chelsea spending £58 million for the player

However – despite some decent performances in that Chelsea shirt – Pulisic has not hit the heights that many had hoped for and has fallen further down the pecking order after the arrival of Raheem Sterling

That has led to some shock reports in the media which have claimed that he is ready to leave the club – and Chelsea are very much open to letting him leave Stamford Bridge if they receive the right offer.

However – after reportedly holding clear the air talks with Chelsea – the star had decided to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place in the side – believing that he would be given a fresh chance under Graham Potter

But now McVennie has opened up and claimed that Pulisic will indeed leave Chelsea if he is not part of the plans under Potter

What has he said?

When asked if the attacker will look for a move away if he’s not in Potter’s plans, McAvennie told Football Insider: “Of course he will if he’s not in the plans.

“It’s going to take another couple of weeks before Potter finds his best team and finds who he can trust and who he can rely on. He’ll do alright, he’s got a good team with him.

“I know Billy Reid, he’s a good coach. People are saying he can’t handle the superstars but why not? If you’re the gaffer you’re there on merit, not anything else.

“Couple of things I’ve seen of him, he’ll get the respect out the dressing room.“
