£60M star wants to be at Arsenal – Arteta chance to sign ace – Fans beg German to join Arsenal
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed –
The agent of Ilkay Gundogan has played down reports that the ARSENAL. target has agreed a new contract with Manchester City.
Ilkay Gundogan has won five Premier League titles since joining Manchester City in 2016 and scored four goals in his last four appearances to help Guardiola’s side overhaul long-time leaders Arsenal and reach the Champions League final.
Manchester City are keen to secure his services for at least one more season but the 32-year-old is yet to commit as he would likely receive a considerable signing-on fee if he joined a new club on a free.
Gundogan was expected to accept City’s improved proposal, but now his agent and brother, Ilhan, has quelled talk of the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder having already decided to stay at the Etihad.
‘Nothing has been agreed with City or any other club,’ Ilhan told Fabrizio Romano when asked about rumours Gundogan has committed to stay at City.
‘The recent reports are not true. Ilkay is only focused on the [Champions League] final.’
Asked if winning at Wembley in the FA Cup made him want to stay at City, Gundogan told the BBC: ‘To be honest I don’t need these kind of days to feel appreciated and to feel special in this club.
‘I know that, that’s why I am here already seven years, with all the ups and downs that I’ve had so far.
‘And nothing is decided yet, so we’re going to see what’s going to happen.’
Even though Arteta would love to add Gundogan to the squad – this is a move that is never going to happen guys
There are some big clubs interested in the man and he may actually fancy a challenge away from the Premier League
Saliba settled –
William Saliba is settled at ARSENAL and has no plans to leave the club – fans have been told.
Saliba has spent the last few seasons developing his football over in French football after Arsenal decided to loan him out – but he has come back and established himself as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League.
There has been some big rumours that the likes of Real Madrid are eyeing up a big transfer move – but Arsenal are keen to make sure that all speculation is ended by giving him a big contract to sign.
Arsenal so far offering the defender a £120,000-a-week deal, But that is ‘nowhere near’ what the Frenchman’s representatives are demanding, and there has been rumours that he may be interested in a move to PSG.
Howver – According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs – Saliba is “settled” in North London.
Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “As I’ve said many times for a year, the PSG interest is very real. They’ve got one clear target, which is to buy young and, where possible, buy French.
“But there remains high confidence at Arsenal that a deal will eventually get done because Saliba is settled at the club.”
ARSENAL are in danger of losing a real classy player and a man that could be one of the best – but they should not bow down to the mans wages.
If he wants £250k-a-week – he can go get it somewhere else – he has played well this season but not well enough to deserve that kind of money at the Emirates.
He probably will sign a new contract at the Emirates – but fans will just be hooing that he does not get greedy and go off the boil after signing one.
Fans wants Gnabry move –
ARSENAL fans are begging Serge Gnabry to “come home” after the Bayern Munich star revealed he was “rooting” for them to win the league this term.
Mikel Arteta put a team together that rivalled Manchester City for that Premier League title right until the very last few weeks of the season – but they simply couldnt keep up their levels of performances.
They did finish second and guarantee Champions League football – which is alot more than what many people believed they would achieve this season.
Gnabry was spotted at the weekends Formula One Spanish Grand Prix and agreed to an interview with Sky Sports in which he admitted that he had hoped Arsenal could win the League.
Now fans have taken to social media and urged the German to make a stunning move back to the club over the summer window.
The German international winger, 27, has just helped his club to claim an 11th-straight Bundesliga crown after BorussIa Dortmund’s final day collapse.
However, Gnabry is believed to be considering his future at the club as Bayern plan a firesale to help rebuild their squad.
A Premier League return has been mooted in the past, with former employers Arsenal linked.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have all also been keeping tabs on the ex-West Brom loanee.
We can easily see Gnabry making a move back to the Emirates – he is established enough to make a big impact at the Emirates.
However – he may go where the money is and if the Gunners are not prepared to pay his high wage demands – then we can see a move to PSG, La Liga or an Italian giant happening
But we would love to see him back in that ARSENAL shirt once again.
