Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
ARSENAL icon Bacary Sagna has indicated that he believes William Saliba will sign a new contract.
Saliba has spent the last few seasons developing his football over in French football after Arsenal decided to loan him out – but he has come back and established himself as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League.
There has been some big rumours that the likes of Real Madrid are eyeing up a big transfer move – but Arsenal are keen to make sure that all speculation is ended by giving him a big contract to sign.
The club are believed to be in talks with the star over extending his deal at the Emirates Stadium – and Mikel Arteta recently revealed that the club are working hard on getting him signed up.
The Sun recently reported that Saliba’s entourage have stunned Arsenal’s hierarchy with their salary demands and there is a growing fear that the centre-back may have to be sold this summer.
Arsenal so far offering the defender a £120,000-a-week deal, But that is ‘nowhere near’ what the Frenchman’s representatives are demanding.
However, the Frenchman told Lord Ping that he can see the centre-back extending his deal at the Emirates.
He said: “I think he will sign a new deal. Contracts are a mind game, but he is playing for one of the best teams in the league, living in a wonderful city.
“I think he has the trust of Mikel Arteta and he knows that he will play in most of the games.
‘I think he will sign a new contract. Talks are happening at the moment – perhaps there will be some good news for Arsenal fans over the next few days.”

Arsenal told to sign duo –
Petit insists ARSENAL should swoop for Brighton duo Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo if they fail to land West Ham star Declan Rice.
There is a massive feeling in the media that Declan Rice is all set to join the Gunners after deciding that now is the right time for him to move on.
However – despite all the speculation suggesting that Arsenal are favourites – West Ham value the midfielder at £100 million and we believe that Arsenal will not pay that amount for the man.
Now – amid all the speculation – Petit has opened up and encouraged the Gunners to make moves for Caicedo and Mac Allister – who are leaving Brighton and have also been linked with a move to the Emirates.
Speaking to Genting Casino, ex-midfielder Petit said: “I have said for a long time that I am a big fan of Moises Caicedo. During the World Cup I said that top clubs would be interested in Brighton’s duo in midfield.
‘Brighton are one of the best in the transfer market in England. The way they spent their money and chose their players was very good and they should be a benchmark to all of the teams in Europe.
‘It is similar to Brentford’s style but it is very different. Arsenal have been talking about Declan Rice a lot.
“If they can get him, It will be a great move but I am a very big fan of Caicedo. This guy can play so many different positions for club and country. He is young and talented. He has a great heart and mentality.
‘Mac Allister will also suit Arsenal as well with his vision and movement on the ball, as well as his passing. He is also scoring goals, which for me is very important for a player. I am happy that top clubs in England are looking at him.
“Caicedo is doing brilliant things at Brighton. Before Alexis Mac Allister won the World Cup, I said clubs should be interested in him and Caicedo together.
“Caicedo understands everything in the midfield, he has a great heart and mentality.
‘Mac Allister would also suit ARSENAL perfectly as well with his vision and passing. On top of that, he’s scoring goals too which is important for midfield players.”
Rice to sign!
Declan Rice has reportedly agreed terms with ARSENAL over a summer move to the Emirates.
They claim the Gunners are now the strong favourites to sign him with the player keen to remain in London.
Rice supposedly does not view Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga as the correct place for him and he wants to stay in the Premier League.
Now it seems that Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Rice – That’s the suggestion from Football Transfers as West Ham all but resign themselves to losing the England midfielder this summer.
The Hammers’ skipper, 24, would be content to join the Gunners, having previously revealed he’s happy staying in London.
But Football Transfers also say he wants his club to be “adequately compensated for his departure”.
And amid all the speculation – Journalist Dean Jones explains the West Ham’s star feeling ahead of a potential move and his supposed snubbing of Bayern, he said: “I’ve never got the impression that a move abroad was something Declan Rice would be looking.
“But of course once an interesting proposal like Bayern’s is actually put on the table, it is going to be intriguing in some way.
“It matches his ambition in terms of chasing titles and being in the Champions League, but it also takes him away from family and friends and definitely is a transfer that would take him out of his comfort zone.
“I’m not saying that is a bad thing, but Rice is a person that loves being a central figure in the dressing room, loves living close to people who can keep him grounded and focused.
“And I just think that if it comes down to Bayern or a top Premier League club, he would prefer to stay in England.
“That’s my reading of this from speaking to people that know him over recent months. Arsenal makes most sense, then Man Utd… Bayern come after them for me.”

Rice is a player that all the ARSENAL fans would love to actually see arrive – he will make a big impact on that Gunners midfield.
So if Arsenal do pull this deal off – they will be getting a fantastic player that is for sure.
