£61M man tipped for Arsenal move – Arteta told to sign £97M powerhouse – Arsenal offer deal to attacker
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
ARSENAL should consider signing CHELSEA transfer target Romelu Lukaku in this summer’s transfer market.
The Belgium international striker scored just eight Premier League goals last season and the decision was made last summer window to send him back to Italian football with Inter.
Big things were expected of the Belgian star when he made the move back to the club – but he has failed to live upto the expectations that fans had – and looks nothing like the man that was banging in goals on a weekly basis before his move to Stamford Bridge
The 30-year-old is due to return to Chelsea in the summer in a bid to prove his worth to Mauricio Pochettino, but could yet become available after his £97.5million move two years ago.
Merson told Give Me Sport that a thin pool of players is available to Arsenal this summer, saying: “Ivan Toney would have suited Arsenal, but that won’t happen now because of his ban.
“Romelu Lukaku might be available. The 30-year-old is an out-and-out centre-forward. He will stay up front and back into players. That might help Arsenal.
“They can’t be predictable. Every goal they score is a ‘good’ goal. They need to be able to score scrappy goals.
“Ollie Watkins I can’t see scoring 25 goals a season. Unai Emery has made him a better player but I don’t think he has the quality.
‘If Arsenal bought him and he went and he only got ten goals next season, you wouldn’t be shocked.
“They looked at Dominic Calvert-Lewin before. Would that be right for them after the season he’s had? Probably not.”

Look, Lukaku has all the ability and attributes to be one of the best strikers in the game – and for a short time at Inter – he was that.
We are not sure that he would be a success at ARSENAL – especially with the way that they like to play.
CANCELO TIPPED FOR MOVE –
Former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted he can “definitely see” ARSENAL swooping for Man City right-back Joao Cancelo
This season Mikel Arteta really has got many fans excited – with the Gunners now in second place in the Premier League with just five games to play – although Manchester City are now favourites for that title.
There will be Champions League football next season for Arsenal, no matter if they win the League, and Arteta knows that he will need to add to his squad in order to keep challenging for the titles.
90min recently reported that the Gunners are interested in the star, with Arteta and Cancelo working together for a few months at Man City before the Spaniard left to take charge of Arsenal.
Bayern have Cancelo’s fate in their own hands as they are keen to keep hold of him beyond this season and have an option to buy in his loan agreement with City.
However, the German giants believe the €70m (£61m) figure is too much and if they are to sign the versatile defender permanently then they will need to negotiate a lower fee with his parent club.
When asked if a move for Cancelo is a real possibility for Arsenal, Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “Yeah, I can definitely see that.
“I don’t think Man City will want to gift any more players to Arsenal – but Arteta will know him inside out after working with him.
“I think it’d be a great signing.
“They need a right-back. Ben White has had a great season, but if you get Cancelo – you get more quality.
“I’m sure Arsenal would love to get that done if he becomes available.”

Man City now feel that ARSENAL will be serious title contenders for next season and will not want to sell anymore players to Mikel Arteta that they believe would improve the squad.
Cancelo is a brilliant star that would be a great signing for the Gunners and that is why Man City will not allow him to move to London.
They would much prefer to see him stay at Bayern and that is what we are fully expecting to see happen – although the right offer may see a move to the Emirates happen.
NELSON OFFERED CONTRACT –
ARSENAL have reportedly offered Reiss Nelson a new contract, it has been claimed by Fabrizio Romano.
He has scored some vital goals this season that kept Arsenal in the chase to win that Premier League title – but his contract expires at the end of the season.
But he has made it clear that he wants to stay at the Emirates – and The Gunners have opened negotiations, and there is a growing belief that an agreement can be reached soon.
Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the Gunners have tabled an offer for four years with the option of a further season if needed.
Journalist Charles Watts has revealed that Nelson has always indicated that he wanted to stay at the Emirates – he told his YouTube channel Channel: “Whenever we’ve spoken to Reiss, certainly after games down in the mixed zone, he’s always absolutely made it clear he wants to stay at Arsenal.
“But now I suppose you’d want to stay, but you’d want to stay on decent terms and if Arsenal aren’t offering you terms to sort of convince you to stay, especially when you know you’re going to be a bit part player, then you’re not definitely going to say yes.
“There’s going to be plenty of interest in Reiss. I think he’s done really well for himself this season, he’s always making an impact now when he comes off the bench.
“Brighton are believed to be heavily interested in Reiss Nelson and Brighton are a very attractive club right now.
‘There’ll be others as well potentially from abroad – we know he did well when he went to Germany and had that loan spell before he came back to Arsenal.
“So some big decisions for Riess to make. He’s the one who’s got the power now.”

Nelson wants to stay at ARSENAL – he wants to be part of the future at the club – but if he is happy to be a bench warmer and then come on when needed – then staying put is the right decision.
