£70M star wants to follow Nkunku to Chelsea ‘will be good move to make’

Joining CHELSEA would be a very good decision to make for Josko Gvardiol after he suggested he wants to follow Christopher Nkunku to the club.

A bid of £70million was reported in the media at the time, but despite all the speculation and all the rumours, the Bundesliga side stood firm and the Blues ended up signing Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana in his place.

However – the young man is still high up on the shopping list of the Blues and it is widely expected that they will go back in at the end of the season, as Boehly wants to continue the trend of spending on the best young talent around.

Chelsea have already landed Gvardiol’s Leipzig teammate Christopher Nkunku, although that deal is yet to be publicly announced, and now it seems that the Croatian International has suggested that he wants to follow Nkunku to Stamford Bridge, he said:

“Phwoar, I was confused,” he recently said when asked about Chelsea’s interest.

“I was really confused because one month before the window starts I was upstairs with the sporting director and he says, ‘Yeah Josko, we are not going to sell you, we need you, we believe in you’.

Now – Reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that joining Chelsea could be a very good move for the defender to make – he told icfootballnews:

‘Chelsea is a club that is currently competing at the highest level in Europe. The Blues are one of the top teams in the Premier League and are also regulars in the Champions League. Gvardiol would have the opportunity to play in the best leagues in Europe, which would be a great platform for him to showcase his abilities.

‘Chelsea is also a club that has a strong defensive tradition. The Blues have always had a reputation for being defensively solid and have a number of experienced defenders in their squad. This would provide Gvardiol with the perfect environment to improve his game and learn from some of the best defenders in the world.

‘A move to Chelsea would be a good one for Josko Gvardiol. The Blues have a proven track record of developing young players, are competing at the highest level in Europe, have a strong defensive tradition, and also have a strong Croatian connection.

‘All of these factors combined would make CHELSEA the perfect club for Gvardiol to continue his development and reach his full potential.’
