£80M star dream signing for Chelsea – Blues in talks for £100M man – Portuguese star says yes to move
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Renato Veiga, Nicolas Jackson and Morgan Rodgers that we think you may have missed…
There has been some reports in the media which have now claimed that CHELSEA star Renato Veiga has agreed to leave the club this summer, as he has reportedly said yes to a move to Athletico Madrid.
Chelsea bought Veiga from Basel in June last year for £12m, with the highly-rated 21-year-old signing a contract until 2031, and many were hoping that he could become a real regular starter in the side.
Capable of playing left-back, centre-back and defensive midfield, he made 18 appearances under Enzo Maresca, most of which in the Conference League and the domestic cups.
Due to the lack of minutes, Veiga was loaned out to Juventus in January and instantly became a first-team regular for the Serie A giants, before ending the season as a Nations League winner with Portugal.
The Blues have been asking for £35m to sell Veiga, with a number of clubs being reported to be interested in the Portugal international, and One of those sides is Atletico Madrid, and it looks as if the player is coming round to the idea of joining the La Liga giants.
The Standard say the two clubs are in talks over a deal for the Portugal international whom Chelsea value at upwards of £35m, while there is also interest from Juventus and Bayern Munich.
IcFootballnews Says..
there are some players that should make the move to Chelsea because they are ready, but there are some players that should make the move early in their careers because the Premier League is difficult, Veiga struggled.
He showed last season that his level is Italian Football or the Spanish Leagues, so this is a good move to make and some good money for CHELSEA to make, it is the right decision to leave that is for sure,
JACKSON TALKS HELD
There has been some stunning reports in the media which have claimed that CHELSEA and Manchester United have talks over a possible deal for Nicolas Jackson, as the striker is seemingly a player that the club no longer want.
Chelsea have already bolstered their attacking options this summer with a £30 million deal to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and a £60m move for Joao Pedro from Brighton last month, and there is talk that they will continue their summer of spending.

Delap scored his first Chelsea goal against ES Tunis in the Club World Cup group stage, while Pedro has made an immediate impact with his impressive displays already in that Blues shirt.
The Athletic report that Jackson is not deemed as ‘untouchable’ at Chelsea and could be sold if they receive a high enough offer.
And after suffering their lowest goalscoring tally in Premier League history last season (44), the Red Devils could still look to strengthen their front line by signing Jackson, as per BBC Sport.
Nevertheless, Mail Sport understands Chelsea are in no rush to sell their man and value Jackson at a jaw-dropping £100m.
Amid all the speculation and rumours, reporter Iomie Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘Manager Enzo Maresca opted for João Pedro and Liam Delap in the Club World Cup, with Jackson limited to his game time
‘Jackson is only 24, so a move could provide a fresh environment to rebuild confidence and form—especially after injury disruptions and joining a club where he’s the focal point—rather than competing with a crowded forward line—might fully unlock his potential.
‘Given Chelsea’s overhaul up front, Jackson’s disciplinary issues, and sustained interest from strong suitors, a summer exit makes sense. He’d secure more minutes, rebuild form, and reignite his trajectory—while CHELSEA potentially cashing in and upgrading their attack.
‘But we are also sure that he would want to stay and fight for his place at the Blues, which could be a mistake.’
RODGERS DREAM SIGNING?
There has been some fresh reports in the media which have claimed the likes of Morgan Rodgers is one of the dream signings that Chelsea would like to make before the close of the transfer window.
Unai Emery’s side missed out on qualifying for the elite European competition after their final defeat against Manchester United consigned them to Europa League football next season. Villa had an impressive run in the tournament last season, beating the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig before they were knocked out by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic quarter-final.

But Villa were recently hit with an unconditional €11million fine for a breach of the organisation’s financial regulations, including €5m for failing to comply with the football earnings rules plus €6m for breaching the squad costs rules.
Now Football.London says that Rodgers is one of a number of players that Chelsea would like to sign before the close of the transfer window.
Former Premier League star Emile Heskey recently opened up and claimed that Morgan Rodgers would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea, amid talk they are looking to raid Aston Villa for the midfielder.
Heskey said: ‘It would be interesting as it’s another Manchester City player who might make their way to Chelsea, but I think he should spend another year at Villa, at least.
‘He’s going well, the club are on the up, and they could break into that top four this season. That’s a really big challenge and a good one for him, too.
‘I think if he did go to Chelsea, he could be fantastic, but for Chelsea it might be overkill, buying players for the sake of it.”

Rodgers is brilliant on the ball and so tough to take it from him, he is a great player for Aston Villa and they will not want to lose a player that is so dangerous against pretty much any defence.
Villa do have some financial issues, but they will not want to start letting their best players go, otherwise it will be a step back from all the hard work from the past few seasons.
And to be honest, Rodgers is very happy at Villa right now and will not want to leave the club.
