Owner Roman Abramovic ‘has contacted’ German Tuchel about making move to Chelsea
Reports have claimed that Roman Abramovic has contacted Thomas Tuchel about a possible move to Chelsea to replace Frank Lampard
Frank Lampard was handed a massive transfer kitty in the summer in order to revamp the squad and make this Chelsea side capable of winning that Premier League title ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
But despite some good performances from the Blues, Lampard has seen his job come under intense pressure over the past few months, as he simply cannot get the results that Abramovic would like, and Tuchel is a manager that he is reportedly keen on.
Tuchel is very highly rated in the game but was recently sacked by PSG after falling out with the board, meaning that he is seeking a fresh challenge in the game and is reportedly eyeing a move to the Premier League.
Now the SUN have claimed that Abramovic has started planning for life after Lampard and has already made contact with Tuchel about a move to the Bridge, although the report also suggest that he will give Lampard some time before ousting the club legend.
There are a number of options for the Chelsea board to consider and contacting Tuchel is putting a feeler out as to whom would come in at short notice, should Lampard get the sack.
Tuchel is a top-class boss that has proven himself over the past few seasons, so if the reports are true and Abramovic has contacted the German, it would not be a bad move to make, although he has alot to prove to be a better alternative than Max Allegri.
