Agent opens up and announces Sarri wants impressive Premier League star Pereyra at Chelsea this January
The agent of Roberto Pereyra claims Maurizio Sarri and wants to bring him to Chelsea in the January transfer window.
It is no secret that Chelsea are looking to do a number of transfer deals over the course of the next few weeks, as Sarri has told the clubs hierarchy that he wants to sign at least two players.
They have been linked with Gonzalo Higuain, Leandro Paredes and Nicolo Barella in recent days, with speculation all suggesting that talks have been progressing well and all would like to make the move.
Another name that has been linked with a move is Pereyra, who has enjoyed an excellent season for the Hornets so far, netting six times in the Premier League.
And his agent has claimed that Sarri is keen to take him to Stamford Bridge this month, Sergio Furlan told TuttoSport: ‘Do we like an Italian technician? Easy: Walter Mazzarri. But I could also say Sarri.
‘A transfer in January? In the market you can never say never, but I tend to exclude it almost always.
‘Maxi does not want to leave his team in such a delicate moment, he is focused on Watford, and the club does not want to sell it in the middle of the championship.
‘In these weeks Chelsea have tried for him, it is true, but also without finding a breach.
‘Maxi is a pure ball of Sarri, even if he has never coached him. I talked about it repeatedly with [Napoli president] De Laurentiis.
‘It seemed like it was done, but then the Higuain-Juve operation blew up everything, suddenly.’
Would Peyerya be a good buy for Chelsea?
The Argentine may be having a good season at Watford and his performances may have caught the attentions of Sarri, but making that step up to a side like Chelsea may be beyond him, for now.
He would find it difficult to break into the Chelsea side and may not get the move his agent is pushing for.
