Agent confirms Italian will be a Gunner – Arsenal confirms Brazilian’s summer move – Midfielder excited after move

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Arsenal youngster Marquinhos has left the club on loan for the season and joined French side Nantes

Marquinhos made 33 first team appearances during his time with Sao Paulo and was a part of the squad which won the Compeonato Paulista in 2021.

ARSENAL Technical Director Edu was very keen to make sure that he was signed by the club last summer – and after a few months of speculation – he made the move to London.

But he has failed to make the impact at the club that Mikel Arteta would have hoped for and the decision has now been made to allow him to move for the next 12 months and get some much needed game time.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Arsenal posted‘The 20-year-old forward joined us from Brazilian side Sao Paulo in July 2022, and Marquinhos’ debut for the club came with a goal and assist, in our 2-1 away win in the UEFA Europa League against FC Zurich in September 2022.

‘The Brazilian youth international gained valuable experience in spending the second half of last season on loan with Championship side Norwich City, while he featured for Brazil in this summer’s U20 World Cup.

‘We wish Marquinhos all the best for his loan spell with Nantes and look forward to seeing his continued development.’

The French side announced: ‘From now on, it is a new challenge that is offered to the young international auriverde U20. After Norwich City and the selection, the yellow and green seems to stick to his skin since it is at FC Nantes that he is preparing to start the 2023-2024 season.

‘With the desire to bring everything he is capable of to Pierre Aristuy’s collective and to raise the audience of La Beaujoire, number 10 on the back!

‘Welcome to FC Nantes, Marquinhos!’

GOOD MOVE FOR MARQUINHOS TO MAKE –

Moving over to the French League and playing for one of the best sides in Ligue 1 will give him the experiences that he needs – he may never be good enough to break into that Arsenal first team – but he can certainly make an impact at Nice.

Obviously, ARSENAL will be keeping an eye on him – but if he impresses in France – he may get a big move in the future.

PATINO EXCITED –

ARSENAL  academy star Charlie Patino is ‘really excited’ to get started with Swansea City after joining the club on loan.

The teenager spent last season on loan in the Championship with Blackpool, making 37 appearances in all competitions, and returns to the second tier with Swansea this time around.

He has been hoping that his performances last season would give him a shot in that ARSENAL squad- but the decision was made that he would go back out on loan as keeping him on the bench would not help his development.

And after sealing his transfer move – the lad has opened up and revealed just how excited he is to get started with Swansea.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

‘I’m really excited and can’t wait to get started,’ Patino said on joining the Swans. ‘Playing against Swansea City last year was a really tough challenge so I’m really looking forward to being part of it.

‘Swansea are a really good team with the ball in and out of possession. It just made me want to be part of it this year. I think this is a good place to help me develop, and I just want to get the team in the best possible position this year.

‘The facilities here are Premier League standard and I’m really looking forward to working here every day. I’m looking forward to seeing the manager and players, and get training.

‘I developed a lot last season at Blackpool. When you’re coming from an academy, it’s a lot different from being in a first team environment. In a first team, you’re fighting for three points every week and games are always just around the corner and it’s Saturday, Tuesday most weeks.

‘I think learning on the pitch from a lot of experienced players at Blackpool was massive for me. And at Swansea as well, there’s a lot of experienced players and it will be great to learn from them.

‘Playing 37 games last year was massive for me and I believe that will help me start well here. I’m really looking forward to it.’

JORGINHO STAYING –

Jorginho will not be leaving Arsenal this summer despite strong interest from clubs in Spain and Saudi Arabia, according to his agent.

With the arrivals of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz this summer there has been much talk of a revamped midfield at ARSENAL, with Jorginho not tipped by many to be first choice.

That has led to some suggestions in the media that he is a player that the Gunners would allow to depart the club this transfer window – with a move to the Spanish league or Saudi Arabia mooted for the Italian star.

However – it seems that he will not be going anywhere this summer and will be staying at the Emirates.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, has revealed that there has been further interest in his player since then, but his stance has not changed and he would like the speculation to come to an end.

‘I’m sure, Jorginho will stay at Arsenal. He’s happy in England. Let’s move on,’ Santos told TMW, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

‘I had some calls from Saudi and also Spanish clubs like him but he’s staying at Arsenal, it’s decided.’

SHOULD JORGINHO LAVE ARSENAL?

If the Italian is happy to sit on the bench and wait for his chance – then he should stay and collect those big wages. But if he wants to play every week, then a move away needs to happen.

However – he really is the type of player that managers love to have in the squad, he is world class, he is proven at the top of the game, he has that experience, and he is a proven winner, so keeping him happy this season will be on the agenda of Arteta.

The news that he is staying is massive – but we just hope that he is able to stay happy with the amount of game time that he may not get.
