Agent Giuffredi opens up and discusses Hysaj to Chelsea transfer speculation
The agent of Napoli star Elsaid Hysaj has opened up on the rumours linking the defender with a big money move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The Albania international joined Napoli in Sarri’s first summer at the club, turning down a move to Juventus in the process and ultimately become a big part of the Italians success with the Italian giants.
Hysaj was been left disappointed by Sarri’s departure and the subsequent arrival of Carlo Ancelotti and the player’s agent suggested during the summer he could have followed his former coach to Chelsea, as the Blues were desperate to add another top-class defender to the squad.
However, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis demanded that Sarri signed no further players from the Napoli team after the arrival of Jorginho and in the end Hysaj stayed put, as Chelsea failed to get a number of their transfer targets signed.
And now Hysaj’s agent Mario Giuffredi has opened up on the possible deal between the two clubs, telling Radio Kiss Kiss: “We were talking about the renewal of Hysaj already during the transfer window.
“Then there was the Sarri question but he wounded himself.
“I have expressed my thoughts to [Napoli sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli.
“They will make their own reflections and we will see what will happen.”
Here is what we think.
Chelsea have made a great start to the new Premier League season and are real title contendors, but their defensive line has already been questioned in the opeing few weeks of the season, and Hysaj would have sorted that had he arrived in the summer.
Howeevr, there is talk that Chelsea will head back in for Hysaj next summer and improve the squad even further, so it is no surprise to see his agent once again open up on the transfer rumours linking his client with a move to London.
