Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

The agents of West Ham linked Marco Asensio will jet into London next week to discuss the possibility of a move to the Premier League, according to reports.

Asensio joined Real Madrid from Real Mallorca in 2014 and has taken in 250 appearances for the Blancos – scoring 52 goals recorded and collecting three La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns.

However – there has been alot of speculation about his future at the club and whether or not he is part of Carlo Ancelotti’s long-term plans – which has alerted a number of top level clubs.

According to the Mirror, The 27-year-old’s future at Real Madrid is still in doubt – with his contract expiring in the summer – and now his agent will speak to clubs about a move to the Premier League.

It has been claimed he is looking for an increase on his £118,000-per-week salary, as well as a four-year contract.

Asensio is a brilliantly gifted midfielder – there is no doubt about that and if he does come onto the market – he will be hot commodity.
He is achieving everything he has ever wanted at Madrid – and winning trophies on a yearly basis – but if he is not part of the plans at the Bernabeu, then it is time to leave.
It will be interesting to see just what he does next as there will be a few cubs interested – but West Ham would be pulling off the deal of the century if they managed to get the man, especially considering the way that they have started this new season.
But in the world of football, anything can happen right?
Antonio claim –

West Ham striker Michail Antonio has revealed he was blocked from a move away from east London during the January transfer window.

After a brilliant season last year and a summer of spending – but things were expected from this Hammers side this season and hope of a Champions Push could be on the cards.

However – that has not happened and the club find themselves in a relegation battle – struggling to score goals and win games – and The January signing of Danny Ings has led to some rumours in the media claiming that West Ham will not look to offload Antonio as he will no longer be needed at London Stadium.

But the 32-year-old was told by the Hammers hierarchy to stay and fight for his place in the team: “Basically, a couple of bids came in – I’m not going to say who they were,” Antonio told the Footballers’ Football Podcast.

“The club said they don’t want to let me go right now. I said, ‘no problem’. I’ll stay here, fight for my place, help the team get out of the relegation zone and that’s it.

“That’s what it was. There was nothing big to report.”

Look, Antonio is a brilliant attacker that West Ham fans love – so the news that he will be staying will be welcomed.

He is very useful to the side – his power is unmatched in the Premier League and quite honestly – it would be a shame to see him leave.

However – saying that, sitting on the bench every week is something that many people do not want to see and we would not be shocked to see him leave at the end of the current season.

Mourinho wanted –

Frank McAvennie “would like” Jose Mourinho as the new West Ham United manager if David Moyes was dismissed

Although The Scot celebrated three years in charge in his second spell with the club this month – there is alot of rumours about his future

The Hammers have one of the very best squads in the Premier League but have Been struggling this season and are now in a relegation battle that no-one could have seen at the start of the campaign.

Mourinho is currently the manager of AS Roma, who are sitting three points behind second-placed Inter after winning the Europa Conference League last season, but he always wants the chance to manage in the Premier League.

Now – McVennie has opened up and claimed that he would love the Champions League winning coach to make a move to the London Stadium should Moyes get removed as boss

“Everything is about opinions and I wouldn’t want David Moyes to go. I wouldn’t want anyone to get sacked,” McAvennie exclusively told West Ham Zone.

“But me as a player I would play for him (Mourinho). You read books and certain players would do anything for him. If Mourinho has a problem he will tell you to your face, he won’t go behind a player’s back.

“I would play for Mourinho if something happened to David Moyes. If he did get sacked then I don’t have a problem with Mourinho taking the job. I think the fans would accept him. I don’t know how he’d get on with David Sullivan so that might be a problem.

“Moyes is still in a job and I want it to work, but would I like Mourinho, course I would.”

Mourinho always wants to come back to the Premier League – but surely the Hammers fan would hate the way the Portuguese boss plays the game, his tactics etc.

We cant see this happening.
