Brazilian update given on West Ham deal for Yuri Alberto after Steidten flies out for talks

West Ham fans have been given a massive update on the possible signing of Brazilian star Yuri Alberto this summer.

Over the past few weeks, WEST HAM have really got their transfer business done and signed players that have improved the key areas of the pitch.

But adding a new striker to that front line is something that David Moyes is still keen to do before the transfer window shuts in just a few days time, and Alberto is a man that the club have been trying to sign.

He has 59 goals in 189 career games to his name so far and has been dubbed the ‘new Neymar’ in the past, which is an easy comparison to make given the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s rise from the Brazilian top-flight to becoming one of the world’s biggest talents.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED – 

ESPN Brazil claims that officials from Corinthians and West Ham have held talks over a deal for Aberto, But it has been rejected out of hand by the Brazilian.

“ESPN learned that Corinthians and West Ham officials discussed the possibility of negotiating Yuri Alberto recently,” the report states.

“The English are in a hurry to close the deal, since the transfer window in the country closes next Friday (1st).

“West Ham made a proposal official for the Corinthians number 9, but the Brazilian team rejected it immediately. The club’s intention is not to lose any more players, even more so in a position that offers extra difficulty to replace in the market.

“So, on Timão’s side, talks with West Ham are over. It remains to be seen whether the London team will try one last card for the final days of the window.”

The transfer window is closing very soon, so if the Hammers really want the player, they may need to make an offer that simply cannot get rejected.

However – WEST HAM have a good squad that will be able to cope, so they also do not need to panic as the side they have right now will be very competitive.
