£42M star Amorim has asked Man United to sign speaks on reports he could make Old Trafford move
Alvaro Fernandez has insisted he’s ‘very happy’ at Benfica amid the transfer reports which have claimed that Ruben Amorim has asked the Manchester United board to bring back their former player.
The left-back joined Benfica on loan from the Red Devils last winter and he went on to sign on a permanent basis for £5 million at the end of the campaign, and Fernandez has since established himself as a key player for the Portuguese giants. Amorim appears keen on re-signing him with the buy-back clause in his deal.
The Spanish ace can be signed by interested clubs for a release clause worth £42m, but United have the option to bring him back for £17m at the start of next year, but it seems that the defender is happy where he is.
“I have people close to me and they are the ones who look at it more,” Fernandez told Spanish publication Marca. “To be honest, I don’t pay much attention to it.
“I’m focused on what I have to do because I have a game every three days. It’s always nice to have teams call you and everyone wants to grow, but I’m doing very well here. United have a signed purchase option, but I’m very happy here
“I have a five-year contract with Benfica. I want to win titles and continue to grow personally, as I am still only 21 years old. I want to win, whether it is with Spain or with Benfica, to continue to grow.”

The man left Manchester United and has started to make a name for himself, Amorim knows the Portuguese League and knows what players could improve his Man United side over the next few windows.
That left-back area is a problem and maybe Fernandez could be the answer, but it seems that he would nee some persuading to make the move back to the club
