Powerhouse ‘is playing for summer move’ after latest West Ham comments
Michail Antonio is playing for a move away from WEST HAM in the summer – Pundit Frank McAvennie has claimed after his recent public comments.
Antonio has been at West Ham United for a good few years now and has been a firm fans favourite – with his power and work-ethic on that pitch nothing more than brilliant.
However – he has fallen to third-choice striker in the pecking order behind recent signings Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings, and was open to a move away from the club in the January transfer window, with Aston Villa reportedly keen with a move.
He is a man that wants to be playing on a weekly basis – and if you believe the words of McAvennie – he is playing for a move away from the London Stadium – he told the West Ham Zone:
“I think he’s playing to get away, but I think he’ll find it difficult when he goes somewhere else.

“West Ham turned him into a striker and I don’t think he is a striker. But he’s came out and said a few things about the club, and you don’t do that.
“I’ve got a wee bitter taste. If they’re annoyed sometimes they say things that they don’t really mean and Antonio is a bit like that, but I think he might go because they’re bringing in strikers.
“Someone at WEST HAM should be scoring 20+ goals per year and he was getting injured a lot and blaming everyone else. It’s something you can’t do. You don’t know what’s coming around the corner and you can’t do that, you’ve got to take responsibility yourself.
“The players have to take responsibility. Every single one of them. Hopefully he can score a few goals and get himself a move.”
Should Antonio leave the Hammers?
Look, he has been brilliant for the club for so long that fans would be unhappy to see him leave – but he is 33 years of age now and needs as much game time as he can get.
If that is not at West Ham – there will be plenty of other clubs interested.
