Emeran signs up, Aouar wanted, Zielinski responds to Klopp talk, Skriniar top target in Liverpool Man United news and gossip
Here is the daily roundup of Liverpool and Manchester United news, gossip and transfer talk from icfootballnews.
Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski insists there has never been any contact from Liverpool.
Liverpool have been linked with a whole host of players over the past few months as boss Jurgen Klopp looks to keep improving the side and challenging for more than just a Premier League title, and Zielinski is on the shopping list.
Zielinski is just one of a number of players that have been impressing for Napoli over the past few seasons and recent reports suggested that he even had talks with Klopp about a transfer to Anfield at the end of the season.
Bit the Poland international is closing in on a contract extension and has admitted that he never had talks with the Reds boss about a mega £50 million transfer.
“I’ve never talked to Klopp. There’s nothing to say about Liverpool or anyone else,” he said via Tutto Mercato Web.
“I’m happy at Napoli. I’m working with a coach who I’ve learned a lot from. I want to play my best football for the rest of the season and then we’ll see what happens.”
“My representatives are discussing my renewal with Napoli and I’m only focused on playing football.
“There was a time when I often thought about my future, and that was reflected in my mental state and performances. Now I leave these things to my agent.
“I’m happy at Napoli, I have two more years left on my contact and I want to win something with this club.
“It would mean a lot to the fans and me. It would also be nice to write myself into Napoli’s history.”
Manchester United have beaten Barcelona and PSG to the signature of wonderkid Noam Emeran.
Emeran, 16, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Old Trafford after catching the eye of United scouts while representing Ligue 1 side Aimens at youth level.
Emeran will now join the United academy headed by Nicky Butt, having turned down offers from elsewhere in Europe, and United will now have big hopes for the talented lad, with the club keen to carry on the history of progressing talents through the ranks.
“Manchester has been more convincing than PSG and Barcelona,” Emeran said to Le Parisien.
Meanwhile, United have made Milan Skriniar their top transfer target for the summer transfer window.
United have been in sparking form under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and it is widely expected that the Red Devils will hand the former striker the permanent position, if he is able to pick up some silverware and maybe add a trophy this season.
And one area they need to fix is the back-line as it is simply not good enough to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United for the premier League title, and all indications suggested they were prepared to splash the cash and land Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.
But with speculation Napoli are demanding £130 million for the powerhouse, the Independent has claimed that United have now made Skriniar their top transfer target.
The Independent add that Solskjaer has already voiced his opinion to the United board over potential singings, as he looks to push on from this season and help get the United side back to the very top of the game.
However, Skriniar will not be joining cheaply as reports suggest that Milan will not let one of the best players leave for anything less than £60 million.
Reports from Italy have claimed Chelsea are trying to acquire the services of Lyon wonderkid Houssem Aouar.
Aouar, 20, who broke into Lyon’s first-team towards the end of the 2016/17 campaign, has come into his own this season, scoring six goals for the Ligue 1 outfit, and his performances have caught the attentions of many of the Premier League’s top clubs.
The France Under-21 international was even singled out for praise by Pep Guardiola after Lyon held Manchester City to a 2-2 draw in the Champions League in November, and it is believed City, Arsenal, Liverpool are all keeping close tabs ahead of a possible transfer in the summer.
However, the TMW website has claimed that Chelsea are now lining up a mega money move during the transfer window, with speculation that a number of first-team players could head for the exit signs with a number of clubs keen.
The blues may also lose their boss before any transfer deal can be completed as it is widely expected that Maurizio Sarri will pack his bags and head for the exit signs after a terrible last few months in charge at Stamford Bridge.
