Arsenal ‘initiate talks’ to get January deal done for £300k-a-week striker

Arsenal have reportedly initiated talks with Napoli over the potential signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they seek to add a striker to the attack that has the ability to score goals on a weekly basis.

ARSENAL have been credited with a strong interest in Osimhen for a number of years and reportedly sent a delegation to Naples on deadline day to get a deal over the line for the striker ahead of the new season.

But a proposed transfer from Napoli to the Premier League fell through and Osimhen went on to complete a season-long agreement with Galatasaray. but there is mounting speculation that the 25-year-old could soon be on the move again.

And According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Arsenal have already contacted Napoli about signing the Nigerian star when the January transfer window opens up, although the Italians have stuck another massive price on the head of Osimhen.

Reporter Iomie Stanley has told icfootballnews that Osimhen would be interested in a January move to the Emirates : ‘There is little doubt about Osimhen’s credentials as a top-tier striker. Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, Osimhen has developed into one of the most feared forwards in European football.

‘His explosive pace, physical presence, and clinical finishing have made him a standout performer in Serie A and the Champions League. In the 2022-23 season, Osimhen’s goals propelled Napoli to their first Serie A title in over three decades, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s elite strikers.

‘At Napoli, he consistently delivered goals, becoming a focal point of their attack. His ability to finish from both inside and outside the box, combined with his aerial prowess, means he possesses the complete package as a forward.

‘If Arsenal wants to sign a striker – Osimhen would be a great option’
