Arsenal ‘ready to go head-to-head’ with Barcelona for Neymar-esque winger

Arsenal are ready to go head to head with Barcelona for the signing of Sevilla winger Bryan Gil.

A productive loan spell at Eibar has brought the promising winger to the attention of leading sides in his native Spain and further afield, and Some have suggested that his game is similar to that of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, a player the youngster greatly admires.

It is no secret that Barcelona are keeping a very close eye on the development of the lad and are reportedly eyeing up a possible transfer move, but according to the Daily Express website, Arsenal have now joined the chase to try and get a deal done.

Mikel Arteta will be handed some money in the transfer window to improve his squad, and if you believe the reports, he is very interested in trying to beat off the attentions of Barcelona to get a deal done for Gil.

And amid all the speculation regarding his future, Gil has welcomed comparisons to Brazilian superstar Neymar, he has recently told El Larguero on reports of admiring glances being shot in his direction from Camp Nou: “You like being on the agenda of one of the best in the world but I have a contract with Sevilla until 2023 and that is up to my agent.”

He added on being likened to Neymar: “He’s one of my favourite footballers but when you see that you say, ‘damn’.

“For now I don’t think I can be compared. But I’m not much of a listener to the news. You come home and you know if you have played well or badly. No one needs to tell you.”

Arsenal will do very well to beat off the attentions of Barcelona for the lad, that is all were going to say.
