Arsenal transfer message sent after Klopp opens up on possible Emirates deal for Winger
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has refused to talk about recent speculation regarding Xherdan Shaqiri’s long-term future at Anfield, amid Arsenal speculation.
Arsenal have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months as much speculation in the media have suggested a number of top players have become unhappy, and that Unai Emery could be on the way out if results do not improve over the next few weeks.
But there has also bee some speculation in the media which has suggested that Emery may be able to get some funds in the January window and add to his squad, especially if he wants to save his job and get the Gunners back inside the top four spots.
And there has been some shock news in the media suggesting that Shaqiri has become very unhappy with his lack of game time at Anfield, and is reportedly ready to seek a possible move away from the Reds during the Winter window.
And although he did confirm the Swiss playmaker would not be leaving the club this season, Klopp has refused to talk completely about the future of Shaqiri.
“Why should I talk about something that’s outside? We spoke earlier, he wasn’t playing as much as he wanted to,” said the German in his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
“Speculation is speculation. Completely fine here. Of course he has a future here.”
Look, we have said it before and we will say it again, Arsenal do not need to improve their attacking side of the game and need to splash their cash on improving the back-line with a top-class defender or two.
If Shaqiri wants to leave Liverpool, that is upto him. But he would not be a good move for Arsenal to make as he is not the type of player that Emery likes to have in the side.
So if he does come onto the market in January, Arsenal should leave it alone and work on adding a defender or two to the squad.
