Bargain signing to boost Arsenal as Arteta ready to pay money and bring Dutchman back to Premier League?
Could Arsenal be all set to make a move and land Memphis Depay on the cheap this summer window?
Manchester United decided to offload Depay in 2017 after the winger failed to make the kind of impact that many expected after his big money move to Old Trafford, but the Dutchman has re-established himself in France with some eye-catching patches of form and his performances have actually linked him with a move back to the Premier League.
That led to speculation that both Chelsea and Liverpool may be interested in trying to secure a transfer deal last summer, especially as both clubs were looking to add something different to their attacks during the summer window.
But in the end of the Dutchman stayed put at the French side, but his performances, and goals, this season has once again liked him with a move back to the Premier League, with Arsenal now reportedly interested in a deal.
Recent reports in the media have claimed Arsenal are considering an approach with the Holland international’s contract set to expire in June 2021.
Now Le10 Sport have reported that Depay will be available for just £30m this summer and is now an Arsenal target as they line-up a number of possible signings.
He has been labelled a flop in the Premier League after he spent two seasons with Manchester United from 2015 until 2017, and is reportedly seeking to put things right and prove that he is capable of playing at the highest level.
He found his form this season as he scored 14 goals and made two assists across 18 appearances in France, and could be a risk worth taking for Arteta as he can also be deployed on the left-hand side of the attack
However, does he still have the ability to be a big star in the Premier League, because that is what Arsenal need right now.
