‘Chump change’ President has Almiron transfer announcement for chasing Arsenal
Atlanta United president Darren Eales has announced Arsenal target Miguel Almiron will not be sold for “chump change”.
There has been speculation that the Paraguay international could be heading to the Premier League in January, with Arsenal boss Unai Emery reportedly eyeing up a bargain move.
The Spaniard has recently lost Danny Welbeck for the rest of the season and is reportedly looking to improve his front line in the coming transfer windows, as he looks to push on from a very good start at the Emirates.
However, Arsenal have been told that only serious offers will be considered for Almiron, as he will not be going for cheap.
“I have seen some laughable things in the press,” Eales told Sky Sports.
“Clearly we are never going to loan one of our players out and we are certainly not going to let them go for the ‘chump change’ that I have seen in some reports.
“If it’s a proper, serious offer then it’s something we would consider, but not for the laughable figures that I have seen mentioned in the press.”
Could Almiron be a decent signing for Arsenal?
Arsenal fans have seen many average players arrive at the Emirates, with most of those players not making any sort of an impact.
So even though Almiron may be impressing over in the MLS, the Premier League is a massive step up and he may struggle to fit into the system at the Emirates.
He is not the right type of player to be signed in the next few transfer windows, and Arsenal fans will be hoping the Gunners don’t pay big money to secure a deal.
