Arsenal ‘have already started discussions’ to bring midfielder to Emirates on player-plus-cash deal
Arsenal are reportedly hoping to persuade Norwich City to sell Emiliano Buendia in a player-plus-cash deal.
The transfer window is now open, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has the opportunity to make a few moves and improve this Arsenal squad enough to make a big push for that top four spot at the end of the season.
And one area of the pitch that he is reportedly looking to improve on is midfield, as the Spaniard has been lacking a bit of creative spark in the middle of the pitch over the last few months, and he needs to get that solved.
The Argentine was named the Canaries player of the month for December and scored the winner in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Barnsley, and So far this season Buendia has recorded six goals and as many assists. The talented winger has also averaged 3.3 key passes, 2.3 shots and 1.4 dribbles per game
The Independent claim Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson are among the players Arsenal are open to offering to secure the Argentine this month, and The report adds that the Emirates side have already started early discussions with Buendia’s agent but a deal is thought to be still considered some way off.
Norwich are said to be hoping to scoop at least £40million for the 24-year-old but involving a player in the transfer could drive the price down.
Buendia is a very impressive player, but is he really good enough to make an impact at the Emirates? we do not think so.
He may be performing well in the Championship, but we have seen on many occasions over the years that when players step up to the Premier League, they are not able to make the grade.
And Arsenal fans will not be happy to hear that Willock is a player that Arsenal are considering letting go.
