Arsenal announce defender deal done, Midfielder would walk into Arsenal squad, German asks for January move as Arteta keen

Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish would ‘walk’ into the Arsenal team, says Danny Murphy.

Mikel Arteta is a boss that needs to spend some serious money over the next few weeks in order to improve a side that may in fact struggle to get a top six spot this season, nevermind a Champions League place for next season.

That has, of course, led to all sorts of speculation about whom could come into the club, who could leave the club, and what superstar signing that Arteta will seek to improve his very young side.

However, there has also been some shock rumours in the media that Villa midfielder Grealish could also be on the radar of Arteta after impressing during his first season back in the Premier League.

His performances over the past few months has also caught the attentions of the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool, But former Liverpool star Murphy has claimed that Grealish could walk straight into the side at the Emirates.

Speaking about Grealish to the Daily Mail, he said: “He can have an impact as a No10, off the left, in a midfield three or even as a deep-lying midfielder.

“He’d walk into the Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United teams right away.”

Arsenal star Dinos Mavropanos has joined 2.Bundesliga side FC Nuremberg on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old has struggled with injury during the current campaign, making just one appearance for the Gunners, that came against Standard Liege in the Europa League back in December and he is now set to leave on loan.

Arsenal were in talks with Nurnberg over a deal for the youngster that would run until the end of the season, and after finalising a few details, the Gunners have now announced on their website that the defender has agreed a loan move.

If Arsenal posted on their official website: ‘Everyone at Arsenal wishes Dinos all the best for his time with FC Nuremberg.

‘The loan is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.’

Despite Arsenal being light at centre-back with Calum Chambers injured it looks like Mavropanos is not in Arteta’s immediate plans and rather than give him another shot to prove himself in the side, he has once again been shifted out.

Arsenal target Jerome Boateng has told Bayern Munich he wants to leave this month, according to Sky in Germany.

Mikel Arteta ha as big job on his hands this season building a side that is capable of challenging for that top four spot, never mind actually beating off the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Leicester, Manchester United and Wolves for Champions League football next season.

But he will reportedly be handed funds to improve key areas of the pitch over the next few weeks, with reports suggesting that he is keen to sign a couple of defenders to help make the side a more solid unit.

And that has led to some shock speculation in the media suggesting that the Gunners boss may be interested in trying to acquire the services of Boateng over the next few weeks, especially as SKY IN GERMANY claim the centre-back wants to leave Bayern this month and is available for only £12.8m.

He has enjoyed a remarkably successful career in Germany but has struggled for form recently. Nonetheless, this has not put Arsenal off the 31-year-old.

It is understood the Gunners would rather sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, but according to reports, Arsenal fear they may be priced out of a move for the highly-rated 21-year-old, so they have lined up Boateng instead.

And reports on the Sky in Italy website have claimed that he has now asked Bayern if he can leave this month, rather than stay and sit on the bench for the rest of the season.
