Arsenal announce Midfielder deal – Gunners tipped to make £70M signing – £48M ace makes Arsenal move decision
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed featuring Charlie Patino, Nico Williams decision and a possible deal for Evan Ferguson…
Charlie Patino has joined La Liga 2 side, Deportivo de La Coruna in a permanent transfer – the Gunners have officially announced on the club website this week after months of speculation and rumours.
The ARSENAL posted on the club website: ‘The 20-year-old joined us in 2015 and during his time with the club, Charlie progressed through our youth academy, signing his first professional contract in October 2020 and going on to make his first team debut in December 2021.
‘The midfielder spent time on loan last season with Swansea City in the Championship making 35 appearances in all competitions scoring four goals and assisting four times in the process. This was Charlie’s second consecutive season in the Championship, due to a season-long loan the previous campaign with Blackpool, where he made 37 appearances for Blackpool, with three goals and four assists to his name.
‘Charlie made a memorable first-team debut when he came on as a substitute to score in our Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Sunderland at Emirates Stadium in December 2021. Charlie made his first start in senior football not long after, in our away defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round in January 2022.
‘We thank Charlie for his contribution to the club during his time with us and wish him all the best for his next chapter with Deportivo de La Coruna.
‘The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.’

Patino was one of those exciting players that Arsenal had big hopes for during his days at the Emirates – he really is a talented lad to so the news that he has now left will be sad news for many of his fans.
But this is probably the right decision as he is not good enough to break into that ARSENAL first team – he needed a permanent move away from the club.
FERGUSON MOVE TO HAPPEN?
Arsenal and Manchester City could reportedly come in for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who is regarded as one of the best young strikers in the Premier League right now and a player for the future.
Arsenal and Man City have both started the season in fine fashion as it looks like it could be a massive battle between the two clubs for that Premier League side this season.
But now Football Transfers claim the Gunners are considering a bid for the 19-year-old, who was previously linked to Manchester City, and it’s also suggested Arsenal would prefer a loan move for the £70million-rated Republic of Ireland star as they seek to add a striker to that attack this summer.
Reporter Iomie Stanley told IcFootballnews that Ferguson could be a great signing for the Gunners,: ‘Evan Ferguson is made for a move like Arsenal.
‘The Gunners have so much talent in that midfield, they have so many goals coming from an array of positions and have a manager that many players in the Premier League are keen to work with.
‘Arsenal have shown since the arrival of Arteta that they are prepared to spend the money on players they believe will take the club forward, and Ferguson is a lad they will keep an eye on.
‘The striker has all the attributes to be one of the best in the Premier League, he has two great feet, powerful and is already great in the air, and despite all that talent at ARSENAL, they do not have a player like the Brighton star in the squad.
‘There is already alot of interest in Ferguson, so he will cost some serious money, but Arsenal are the ideal club for the lad to join right now as he would be given time to adjust.
‘The next move could make or break his career, but we are sure that a move to the Gunners could help him reach that next level.’
NICO WILLIAMS DECISION MADE –
Any Arsenal hopes of an incredible swoop for Nico Williams by Friday’s deadline are fading, as reports have now claimed that the Spanish star is very much open to staying at Athletic Bilbao.
Nico Williams is one of the most talked about wingers in the game right now and is a player that have been linked with some of the games biggest clubs because of that £53 million release clause.
ARSENAL have been linked with a move to the Emirates for the past few weeks as it has been claimed on numerous occasions that Mikel Arteta is a massive fan of the Spanish star and is ready to pay big money to get a deal done.
Interest from Arsenal over a deal for Williams has dyed down in recent days as Williams’ apparent preference to stay in Spain, but according to the Sun – Arsenal, who are willing to meet his £48million release clause, could make one last-ditch attempt to tempt the 22-year-old to sign.
Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool are also said to be keen, but But it’s reckoned on the Sun that Williams is more than happy to stay with Athletic for now.
And although his £48million release clause seems modest, time is running out for his admirers in the current transfer window

Nico Williams is a brilliant attacker that would be a brilliant addition to that Gunners side and to be honest – we believe that ARSENAL would be getting a game-changing player if they manage to secure a deal for the man.
But we are not surprised at this decision as he wants to stay in La Liga – and he probably wants to wait for that Barcelona move next summer window.
