Arsenal ‘are convinced’ possible £54 million signing ‘is the answer to their creativity issues’
Arsenal remain ‘convinced’ that Houssem Aouar is the answer to their creativity issues in midfield.
The Gunners have been linked with a bid for the Frenchman as manager Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his midfield and add a bit more creativity and quality to his midfield over the transfer window.
They did want to sign Aouar in the summer, but opted to make the move for Thomas Partey in the summer window, with many believing that the club would try and get a deal done in this transfer window.
But Due to the players £45million price tag, he is unlikely to move in the January transfer window, and reports have claimed that Arsenal have made the decision not to make a move to try and sign the midfielder this transfer window.
And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners firmly believe that he is the man to come in and solve the club creative issues: “They are still looking for this kind of player, they were also trying for [Dominik] Szoboszlai who then joined Leipzig, but they were trying really for Dominik Szoboszlai,” Romano said on the Feather on Football podcast.
“And also Aouar has always been the first target for Arsenal. They love him and they are convinced he would be perfect in their midfield.
“The problem is that Lyon are asking for €60million (£53.3m) they are having an amazing season, they want to be back in the Champions League, so at the moment with the president of Lyon it’s really hard to negotiate in January for this kind of player.”
Aouar is certainly a player with alot of potential and quality, so if they could get a deal done, he would be worth the cash guys
