Auba challenged! Arsenal boss Emery has ‘top man ‘ message for ten-goal hitman Aubameyang

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has challenged Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to win the Premier League’s Golden Boot this season.

Despite a relatively slow start to the new Premier League season, Aubameyang has adapted to the new style of play under Emery very quickly and is the league’s top scorer with 10 goals after scoring twice against Tottenham at the weekend.

The result moved Arsenal above Tottenham in the premier League and fully cemented the club as real title contenders, something which many never predicted when Emery replaced Arsene Wenger in the summer.

Now Emery wants his star man to push on from his decent run in the league and seriously challenge the likes of Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah, Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku for the golden boot.

“I want him to continue improving, and his challenge is also collective and individual,” he said on the Sky Sports website.

“I want his challenge to be that he has the opportunity to be the best scorer in the Premier League.

“We want to help him achieve this and that is because, if he is scoring, he is helping us.”

Can Aubameyang take the golden boot this season?

Aubameyang is now firmly one of the most devastating strikers in the Premier League and all he needed was time to adjust to the English game.

He certainly has the quality and finishing ability to be the top scorer by the end of the year, it will just be a case of whether he has the players behind him to create enough chances for him over the course of the season.

But if he gets the chances, then yes he has a big chance of finishing the season as the Premier Leagues top scorer.
