Daily Arsenal transfer news! Benatia January exit, £100 million Bailey warning

Here are the latest Arsenal transfer headlines from Wednesday.

Reports have now claimed Arsenal are eying up a move for Medhi Benatia, with reports he could leave Juventus in January.

Benatia is rated very highly across Europe as one of the most solid central defenders in Europe, and has been on the radar of United for the last few seasons, but a deal could simply not be done.

The defender was very happy at the Seria A Champions and it seemed that Juventus were more than happy to keep hold, but that all seems to be changing this season as Benatia has seen his game time limited.

And amid more speculation the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to reignite their interest this coming January transfer window, the TMW website claims Arsenal have joined the chase for a possible deal after Benatia admitted he will consider his future if his game time doesn’t improve under Max Allegri.

He was quoted on the CalcioMercato website: “I struggle to play with no consistency. I was doing well last season because I was playing on a regular basis. Now it’s not the same. This is my job and I always need to work hard to be ready to play but it’s a situation I don’t like.”

“I am 31 and I want to play as much as I can. Let’s see what happens in January, how many games I will play. Let’s see if Juve and Allegri need me. I am here to give my best and that’s what I will do until I’m here. If the mister will need me in the Champions League I will be ready.” (Read full article)

Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director Jonas Boldt has announced that they will not be selling Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal target Leon Bailey this coming January.

Regarded as one of the most exciting and talented youngsters in Europe, there has been some speculation in the media over the last few days which suggested the Premier League trio will be looking to try and seal a deal for Bailey in the coming transfer window.

Chelsea and Liverpool are looking to keep on building the side in hope they can push Manchester City all the way for the premier League title this season, while Gunners boss Unai Emery is desperate to add a bit more creativity and pace on his wings, as he looks to get back into a top four spot.

Bailey still has over four years remaining on his current deal with Leverkusen and while the German club admit the winger will be sold at some stage, he will not be leaving midway through the season.

‘The conversation was good. We all know that Leon will eventually leave,’ Boldt told Bild.

‘But we have made it clear that a winter transfer is out of the question. He also knows that he has our backing.’ (Click for full article)
