Wow! Arsenal to raid Manchester United? for perfect Koscielny replacement Bailly as star wants out
Fresh reports have now claimed Arsenal are ready to reignite their interest in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly now that Laurent Koscielny wants out of the club.
Bailly was signed by United for £30 million two seasons ago and firmly became a may stay in the back-line for the special one last season, as he was the most consistent defender at the club.
However, Ex-boss Jose Mourinho chopped and changed his defence this season as he searched for the best centre-back partnership, and Bailly has barely featured for the club, with the Portuguese boss dropping him from the side.
And his game time has not improved much under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the club legend preferring Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling during his seven wins as boss.
And one club that has been linked with a move is Arsenal according to reports, with boss Unai Emery desperate to strengthen the back-line after in the coming transfer windows with his current defence receiving criticism for some of their performances.
Now they could reignite their interest in the Ivory Coast defender after Koscielny refused to link up with the club on their pre-season tour of America as he wants a move back to his homeland.
And with the reports United are targeting a centre-back in this summer’s transfer window, Bailly’s Old Trafford days appear to be numbered, and they would be open to a transfer deal at the right price.
a href=”https://icfootballnews.com/arsenal-news-25/” rel=”noopener noreferrer” target=”_blank”>The Gunners were linked with a move for Bailly before he eventually signed for United, and have reportedly made contact with the Red Devils about an early summer transfer deal, with Emery keen to start improving the side after the Europa League final against Chelsea.
Bailly is a solid defender that has all the ability to become a top Premier League player in the coming seasons, he just needs a leader next to him, as he is clearly not a man that leads.
So if rumours are true and he is looking for a way out of United, then it will be a shame for the club, especially since their other options are not up to the standard needed to help the club become Premier League and Champions League winners.
