European Giants have made decision about letting 12-goal star join Arsenal this month
Barcelona have reportedly made a decision about letting Ferran Torres depart the club for Arsenal this January window
The World Cup is over – the Premier League has re-started, and the January transfer window is now wide open – meaning that Mikel Arteta will be able to add to his squad.
This Arsenal side may be sitting top of the Premier League and playing some very exciting football – but they lack strength in depth and a few injuries could really scupper the progress that Arteta has achieved this season.
That has led to many reports in the media that a possible move for Torres could be made by the Spaniard in the January window -amid speculation that he is a player that Barcelona are open to selling.
The Gunners being keen on bringing in a new forward next month comes as no surprise after Gabriel Jesus’ injury.
However, in his column on Caughtoffside, Fabrizio Romano insists the Catalans have now decided that they may not be interested in letting the Spaniard leave this transfer window
He said: “Barcelona want to keep Ferran Torres, there are currently no negotiations for him.
“Their aim is to keep the same squad until the end of the season and then change some players again in July.”

Look, Torres is a very gifted young man that needs to be playing and it is easy to see why Mikel Arteta would like to sign him – but this Barca squad is not the biggest and it would have been a shock to see him leave this transfer window.
