Big news from Italy as Arsenal interested in signing £29 million Lacazette Replacement

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports in Italy.

Arsenal are prepared to sell a number of first-team players as part of Arteta’s shake-up this summer with Alexandre Lacazette reportedly among them.

While he finished as the club’s top scorer last season, the Frenchman is not currently tied down to a long-term deal with his current contract set to expire next summer, and there has been some reports in the media suggesting that Atletico Madrid are interested in a deal.

A striker could be among the manager’s targets with the Gunners among the clubs interested in signing Italy international Belotti, according to Tuttosport.

The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract with Torino now ready to cash in on him this summer, setting their asking price at £29 million, and with the Gunners not expected to spend too much money in the transfer window, they are looking for a bargain or too.

Arsenal do need to make sure that they add a new striker to the squad in the coming transfer window as what they have right now is simply not good enough. However, Belotti is not the player that they should be trying to sign this transfer window.

There are a number of players out there that the club could sign that would send a real statement to the rest of the Premier League, and if they are willing to spend a bit more money, those are the players that they should be trying to sign.

Bellotti may not be right for Arsenal, but he is a finisher of the very highest class. A bit plodding and soft-seeming, but magical. He just turns up in the right place at the right time and the ball ends up in the net. I have always loved to watch him play.
