Arsenal ‘have made bid’ to sign unhappy PSG star Muenier as Emery wants deal done
Fresh reports have again claimed Arsenal have submitted an offer to sign PSG star Thomas Meunier.
With Arsenal looking to revamp the side in the coming transfer window and acquire some players that will help the side get back into winning the Premier League, there has been a lot of speculation about whom the Gunners could try and acquire.
And one name that has been linked with a possible move to the Emirates is that of Meunier, who is seen as the ideal back-up of replacement for Spanish full-back Hector Bellerin, who has been plagued by injuries over the past few seasons.
Now the TMW website have claimed Unai Emery wants to bolster his backline, and he knows Meunier well having signed him for PSG while in charge of the French club, and has made a £25 million offer to sign the Belgian star.
Meunier recent admitted that he is unsure whether or not he will be staying at PSG this summer, telling Canal+: “As I have said, nothing is clear, with regards to me or the club.
“People are enquiring, left and right, but I still have another year on my contract.
“The club knows my position, I have always said that I want to stay.
“Aside from that, do I suit them or not, do they want to change the Paris cycle a bit? Nothing is clear for the moment and we are going to see a little what happens.
“I think that I will receive news during the holidays.”
Arsenal are a side in desperate need of adding some fresh faces to the side, especially if they are serious about challenging Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title.
There are not too many world class right-backs in the game right now, but Meunier is a top-class performer that has the ability to play at the very highest level, so the Premier League would not be too daunting for him.
So if Arsenal are serious about challenging once again they need to stop being afraid to spend the big money it takes to land top-class players from big clubs.
