Arteta gets £80 million boost as Arsenal target tells club he wants summer transfer move

Long-term Arsenal target Wilfred Zaha has reportedly told Crystal Palace that he wants to leave in the transfer window.
Regarded as one of the finest wingers in the Premier League, Zaha was heavily linked with a transfer move to the Emirates just a few seasons ago, as then current boss Unai Emery, was eager to bolster his attack.
But despite all the rumours, despite all the speculation and despite the talk that Zaha was keen on a move to the Emirates, the Arsenal board made the strange decision to break the club record and bring Nicolas Pepe to the Premier League after one good season in France.
Zaha has gone on to re-establish himself in the Premier League, while Pepe has failed to impress many at the Arsenal, but there is more speculation in the media that the Gunners are still interested in a deal, and they have been handed a real boost.
According to The Times, he has decided that he wants to call time on his six years at Palace and secure the move he feels he deserves.
The report states that the winger wants to seal a move away from Palace before the squad returns for pre-season training next month.
The 28-year-old still has two years left on his contract, worth £120,000 a week, so will likely not come cheap for any club interested in acquiring his services.
Roundup…
Look, we are massive fans of Zaha and firmly believe that he should be playing at one of the big clubs in the Premier League, so if the Gunners are willing to pay that big money, he would be a great signing for the club.
