Wow! Arsenal ‘have opened talks’ to sign £44 million rated midfielder Cabellos from Real Madrid
Arsenal have reportedly opened talks Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos over a possible move to the Premier League this summer.
Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is on a mission this summer to build a side that is capable of toppling Barcelona for the La Liga title, and is expected to spend close to £400 million on new players to achieve that goal.
The Spaniard have already signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea and striker Luka Jovic, and there is a lot more speculation linking the club with numerous world class attackers.
The arrival of another attacking midfielder would push Ceballos further down the pecking order and the Spaniard not looks set to leave the club, with Arsenal and Tottenham interested.
But according to Sport, the Gunners have approached Los Blancos about signing the 22-year-old and are reportedly ready to pay the £44 million it would take to bring the poniard to England this summer.
Arsenal are looking to add some more width and creativity to their attack over the coming months and Unai Emery has been eyeing up a deal for Cabellos for the last few months.
So the news that the youngster could be leaving Madrid in the coming months means that Arsenal can look to get a transfer deal done for around, which could be seen as a very good investment.
However, he is not worth £44 million and Arsenal will need to get that price down to around £20 million to make any deal worth it.
Arsenal have been linked with a whole bunch of attackers this summer, and even though they may need some in the future, right now Emery needs to focus on improving the defensive side of the game as they will once again struggle next season to get back challenging for a top four spot.
The Gunners already have one of the best attacks in the Premier League, but shipping another 50 goals in the Premier League will not be good enough for the club, the future of Emery, and the Gunners hopes of becoming a Championship winning side again.
