Arsenal closing on on La Liga deal – Arsenal backed to sign £68M star – Arsenal close to deal for £72m man
Pepe deal close – Arsenal closing in on Pino – Arsenal backed to sign Lucas Paqueta in Arsenal roundup –
Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe is wanted on loan by Nice and is closing in on a summer move to the French side
The £72million record signing has struggled to hold down a place in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI and has been linked with leaving in recent times, with the likes of Lyon and Marseille both reported to be following the player’s situation at Arsenal with interest amid reports the player was assessing his options during the January transfer window.
However, despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours that he could actually depart the club in January, Pepe opted to stay put at the club and try to fight for his place in the side
But that has not stopped speculation about his long-term future at the club as Arteta will look to continue revamping the squad for the rest of the summer transfer window, and is reportedly open to the idea of letting the star leave
Now – according to THE SUN – Nice are keen to complete the signing of the winger – and The Ivorian is keen on the move as talks are now at an advanced stage
Pepe cost Arsenal £72m but has fallen out of favour and is yet to feature this season.
There is no doubt that Pepe has real quality, but he is so frustrating to watch and Gunners fans just want him to show more desire.
But the best thing for all involved would surely be to leave the club and head back to French football
Ligue 1 suits his style of play and is where he made his name – so as we said – it would be a good move for the winger to make
Arsenal backed to sign Paqueta –
It has again been claimed that Arsenal have been tipped to complete the signing of Lyon star Lucas Paqueta
Paqueta is a player that has been in the headlines a lot over the past few weeks after it emerged that he was a player that Edu would love to bring to the club after an impressive season with the French side
Lyon are holding out for a €80 million (£67.6m) fee for the Brazil international – who was voted as the best foreign player in Ligue 1 last season – and that has become a problem as the Gunners do not want to pay that amount of money
However – Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte have claimed that Arsenal ‘appear the main candidate’ to sign him this summer and will win the race for the Brazilian
The Arsenal boss is a known fan of the Brazilian, who scored 10 goals in 34 appearances last season.
Amid the speculation Kevin Campbell has claimed that he would be a great signing for the Gunners – he recently told Football Insider: “Paqueta looks like a really, really good footballer.
“He is another Brazil international. Hey, come and join the Brazilian revolution! It is happening in London, and it is happening at Arsenal.
“Listen, you can never have enough quality players, especially with the five-substitute rule now.
“The pursuit of the likes of Paqueta and [Youri] Tielemans could go right to the end of the window. These are the players who are difference makers.
“The team is performing now. Could you imagine if you bolster that with two, three, four of the players we are talking about? All of a sudden people would be like, ‘Hold on a minute, something it really happening at the Emirates.’
“I like what I am hearing, and I like what I am seeing. Paqueta would be a brilliant signing.”
Pino message sent –
Arsenal’s interest in Villarreal ace Yeremy Pino is increasing – Fans have been told ahead of a possible move
After an impressive season last year with Villareal – there has been alot of speculation over the past few weeks that the Gunners are very interested in trying to sign the gifted young man
Mikel Arteta may have signed the likes of Fabio Vieira – Oleksander Zinchenko – Marquinhos and Gabriel Jesus – but he knows that the season is long – and wants to keep on adding to his side
The La Liga club are said to be willing to consider offers of around £38million for the teenager despite the fact he has a £67million release clause.
And it has even been suggested that Edu has spotted jumping on a plane to La Liga in order to try and wrap up this transfer deal for Pino.
Now – it seems that Arsenal are really stepping up their chase to sign Pino – if you believe the reports from CBS reporter Ben Jacobs – who has claimed that the Gunners interest has been increasing
He told Give Me Sport: “Yeah, I mean, Pino and the sort of Arsenal interest is growing, I think that is fair to say.
“And it’s definitely one to watch between now and when the window shuts.
“And one of the reasons for that is because there is a need at the Villarreal end to sell.”
Pino has alot of potential to become a very good footballer – but he is a player that the club do not need
They already have a number of exciting players – add a few more experienced ones – give him a few more seasons and then make a move – but for now – leave him where he is
