Arsenal confirms defender deal – Gunners open to £50M deal – Arsenal icon happy with incoming signing

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –

Maldini Kacurri has revealed that it is a dream for him to agree a new contract at ARSENAL

He said: “I’m very happy. This is something that I’ve been working towards my whole life. I feel very proud of myself, and my family are very proud of me, so all in all I’m very happy and can’t wait to keep going.

“Since the start I’ve felt very welcome. I settled in straight away and really enjoy it here. It’s a very nice club to be at. It’s good to pay off my family’s efforts a little bit, but of course there’s a lot more hard work that needs to be done.

“It wasn’t a difficult decision at all to commit my future here. It’s a great club, I’ve learned a lot here and I’ve improved so much. I can only see myself improve even more so it’s a no-brainer really.

“As long as I keep focusing on myself and improving, that will give me the best chance to have a good career.

“I was comfortable with the under-21s last season and took the chances I was given. I can’t wait for next season to prove myself even more. It’s a lot more challenging than under-18s, a lot quicker, but that’s how you learn. It will be good to see how I deal with that and learn from that.

“Without my family I couldn’t do anything. They’ve helped me a lot throughout my journey and have supported me through the good times and the bad, so it’s nice to know that they’re always there.”

ARSENAL TO SELL RAMSDALE?

According to reports, Arsenal are ready to sell goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as Mikel Arteta searches for another back-up goalkeeper.

The 26-year-old who has made England’s Euro 2024 squad has been linked to a transfer this summer after falling behind David Raya in the pecking order at the Emirates.

The likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa and West Ham are just three clubs that have been linked with a move for the England goalkeeper – and the Gunners will demand a significant fee for his services, and it remains to be seen whether any team is willing to break the bank for the 26-year-old Englishman.

According to The Sun, Arsenal value him at £50 million. There is no doubt that Ramsdale is a talented custodian who has established himself in the Premier League. However, expecting teams to spend £50 million for him may not be the wisest approach

There have been varying claims surrounding the asking price from £30million all the way to £50million. Arsenal are keen to make a profit on the player signed for an initial £24million back in 2021 and having seen him sign an extension last summer, the club have plenty of control when it comes to dictating the price.

Ramsdale is far too good to be sitting on the bench every week and he must have hated it last season – there are some big clubs interested in a potential deal – and if anyone gets the man, they will be getting a very good shot-stopper.

ARSENAL have a number of players that they will be selling this summer – we are fully expecting him to depart the Emirates over the next few months

CALAFIORI MESSAGE SENT –

David Seaman has welcomed the news that Riccardo Calafiori is likely to join Arsenal this summer window.

Despite having the best defensive record in the Premier League last season – Mikel Arteta is keen to keep on adding to his squad over the next few months and buying players that he believes will improve the ARSENAL squad.

It has been claimed that Calafiori has agreed terms with the Gunners and the report says that negotiations over the transfer fee and the structure of the payments have progressed over the last few days with Arsenal paying a fee of around £42 million for the defender.

Seaman doubts Calafiori, who can play centre-back or left-back, would replace William Saliba or Gabriel but insists the Italian would ‘improve’ the squad: ‘That would be another improvement to the squad,’ Seaman told Betway when asked about Arsenal’s pursuit of Calafiori.

‘William Saliba and Gabriel don’t get replaced in the starting line-up, but if Calafiori comes in it’s more competition for places, and depth in case of injury.

ARSENALlearned a tough lesson when Saliba was out two seasons ago. We missed him massively, and Takehiro Tomiyasu was injured at that time so Ben White couldn’t move to centre-back.

‘Whether the club need to sell one or two defenders will be on Mikel Arteta’s mind now. It’s tough to say who might leave – Kieran Tierney is injured again and might be out for a while with a bad hamstring injury.

‘As much as you want to continue buying players, you now have to balance the books with the profit and sustainability rules.’
