ARSENAL are among the teams in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud,

So far this season, the midfielder has started just three games in the Bundesliga and has not featured in any of Dortmund’s Champions League games so far, as he struggles to make any impact on the Bundesliga giants.

That has meant that the decision has already been made that the club will not be looking to renew the contract of the midfielder this season and will allow him to depart the club.

“I had a very open and honest conversation with Mo last week. I informed him that we would not be extending his contract in the summer,’ Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl said last month.

‘Mo has been with us for six years now, he is a very good footballer and I really have a very high opinion of him in terms of sport and personality. Nevertheless, we decided to take this step.’

According to Sky Germany, Dahoud is not short of offers as several clubs have already made enquiries ahead of the summer window.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester City, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma are all interested in a potential deal for the player – but it has been claimed that the Gunners have already made their moves for the man.

Mikel Arteta knows that the Gunners will have alot of games to play next season with the Champions League, and knows that he needs to add some more depth to the squad.

Dahoud may not be the biggest name that has been linked with a move to ARSENAL – but he is certainly a player that has proven himself at the top of the game.

He has been unfortunate that there are some quality players now at Dortmund – but if he moves to Arsenal – he may find that sitting on the bench at the Emirates will happen too – as they also have a number of quality players in the squad.
