Loftus-Cheek, Rashford told to leave, Aubameyang warning, sell Ozil not Ramsey claim in Arsenal Monday
Here is a daily roundup of todays Arsenal news, gossip and transfer news from IcFootballnews.com.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has claimed Ruben Loftus-Cheek will ‘really’ have to think about leaving Chelsea next summer.
Loftus-Cheek is regarded as one of the best young talents currently in the Premier League and is tipped to become a real goal-scoring midfielder if he gets the game time he needs to develop.
Loftus-Cheek decided to stay and fight for his Chelsea career rather than leave the club in the summer, and so far, it has not worked out for the Englishman.
England international Loftus-Cheek scored his fifth goal of the season as Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 on Sunday. But he is yet to start a Premier League fixture under Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, playing back-up to the likes of Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley.
And Shearer, who is the Premier League’s top scorer, has told Loftus-Cheek he may have to seriously consider his future at Stamford Bridge.
‘Ruben will have a big decision to make at the end of the season,’ Shearer said in a column for The Sun.
‘He scored against Fulham – just like he did the last time he played in the Premier League against Burnley back in October.
‘But despite doing very well every time he does play, he is just not getting enough game time.
‘Loftus-Cheek had a good time on loan at Crystal Palace last season and then went to the World Cup with England.
‘I understood his decision to come back and give it a go at Chelsea because a new manager had taken over.
‘But he will have to wait and see if he plays more between now and the end of the season, otherwise, he will really have to consider his future in the summer.’ (READ MORE)
Jose Mourinho is ‘killing’ Arsenal target Marcus Rashford and the England forward ‘must’ leave Manchester United to save his career, according to Garth Crooks.
Rashford burst onto the scene at Old Trafford a few seasons ago and immediately became a real fans favourite at the club, and is also regarded as one of the best young talents in world football.
But over the last 12 months there has been a change in confidence for Rashford, as the youngster does not look like the exciting and skilful winger that got United fans off his feet, and under the guidance of Mourinho, his development is heading backwards, not forwards.
That has led to some speculation that Arsenal could make a surprise move for Rashford in the coming windows, as Unai Emery needs to replace Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck, and is a big, big fan of the Englishman.
Now Crooks has claimed Mourinho is killing the talented young man, telling the BBC sport website: ‘This really can’t go on. Jose Mourinho is killing Marcus Rashford.
‘The lad pulled Manchester United from the jaws of defeat at Southampton and then Jose gave the one man who was desperate to win the game for him the hook? It made no sense. ‘The kid was on a roll and anyone who has played the game could see that. Mourinho may have won trophies but he destroys players in the process.
‘He is doing to Rashford what he did to Arjen Robben at Chelsea. Rashford must get out of United now before what little confidence he has left is destroyed.’ (READ MORE)
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has warned Manchester United his best form is just around the corner.
Aubameyang has had a difficult start to the new season after making such an impact when he arrived last season, and this year he has had to share the front-line with French striker Alexandre Lacazette, who has rediscovered his form at the Emirates under the guidance of Emery.
But Aubameyang has found his feet once again over the past few weeks and his two goals in the 4-2 spanking of Tottenham at the weekend now makes him the 29-year-old’s brace against Spurs saw him become the outright top goalscorer in the Premier League this season with ten goals.
However, he has sent a huge warning to the Premier League after telling Gunners fans that he is not playing at his very best just yet, and the best is yet to come.
Aubameyang said on the Sky Sports website: ‘I think I’m not at my 100 per cent, but it is coming. It’s coming.
‘Against Tottenham, I felt very good on the pitch and I am really happy. But my best form is coming.’
‘I hope I’m at the same level [as Kane, Aguero and Salah] and I think so, yes. ‘It’s early in the season. We have good strikers in the Premier League, so it will be tough [to finish as top scorer].
‘But I’m happy we won yesterday. The most important thing is the team. It’s the best league in the world so it’s a great challenge for me.’ (READ MORE)
Gunners legend Ray Parlour says he would rather see German midfielder Mesut Ozil leave Arsenal than Aaron Ramsey.
It is no secret that Ramsey is leaving the club at the end of the season after ten years as an Arsenal player and over 350 appearances for the club, after failing to agree terms on a new contract which would see him finish his days at the Emirates.
Ramsey came off the bench to help Unai Emery’s team defeat north London rivals Tottenham 4-2 on Sunday in a game which proved they are serious Premier League title contenders, while £350,000-a-week midfielder Ozil was once again missing with an injury.
And after seeing Ramsey put in another good performance for the side, parlour has told Emery he is letting the wrong player leave the club, telling the TalkSport website: ‘My personal decision would be that I’d rather keep Ramsey than Ozil.
‘I think Aaron brings a little bit more to the team. ‘Mesut Ozil is a great player, I’m not doubting that, but you can leave him out.
‘We didn’t miss him yesterday, whereas I thought Ramsey made an impact in the second half.
‘Aaron has been there a long time, he’s been there for ten years, so you’ve got to look that as well.
‘Some players would sulk and say,
“I’m leaving at the end of the season, so it doesn’t really matter”, but his attitude has been spot on.
‘He knows he’s leaving at the end of the season, but he was brilliant in mid-week in the Europa League. I would rather have Aaron Ramsey.’
