Arsenal ‘desperate’ to sign £40 million Man United target that Legend Pires wants at the Emirates
Fresh reports have claimed Arsenal are desperate to sign Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bassika in the summer transfer window.
Wan-Bissaka has shot to prominence this season after breaking into Crystal Palace’s team and his performances for the Eagles have caught the attentions of both Arsenal and Manchester United, who are seeking to reinforce their back-line during the summer window.
The Gunners may have Bellerin as the clubs main right-back, but the Spanish star is constantly linked with a move to Barcelona and is not the player that dominated a few seasons ago after a serious of injuries has stopped his rapid rise to becoming one of the best right-backs in the game.
And according to reports on the Sun, the Gunners are even willing to include Reiss Nelson or Ainsley Maitland-Niles to cheapen the deal as they do not want to pay the £40 million valuation that Palace have stuck on the head of Bassika.
GunnerS legend Robert Pires recently urged Unai Emery to try and complete a summer deal for the £40 million rated Palace star, telling Bwin: “Arsenal should definitely be looking to sign Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window. He’s exactly the type of player that would suit the attacking full-back role that Arsenal like to play and he would definitely improve the team next season.
“[Hector] Bellerín will have a long road to recovery and Arsenal won’t be wanting to rush him back in too quickly. There’s also the chance that his injury will be a recurring one so they need to have another full-back of the same high quality and I think Wan-Bissaka is that player.”
Here is what we think.
Wan-Bissaka is showing great potential and is certainly a talent that could evolve and develop if he managed to secure a big money move to the likes of Arsenal or United.
He may not be ready to be the clubs first choice right-back, but give him a few seasons around the quality of both sets of players and the young man could develop into a real Premier League sensation.
