Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Petit believes the Gunners will not take the risk of signing Former Manchester United and Juventus star Paul Pogba when his doping ban ends in 2025.

Pogba, 31, is desperate to get his career back on track after his four-year ban for doping offences was reduced to 18 months following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The French World Cup winner will be free to resume training from January 2025 and is eligible to play again in March, and moves to the MLS or Saudi Arabia have been suggested as possibilities for Pogba.

He has been tipped to make his Premier League comeback. However, former Gunner Petit has ruled Arsenal out of the running as he does not believe they will want to make a high-risk play on the 31-year-old.

Speaking to Instant Casino, Petit said: “It’s really important that he picks the right club next, and that club will be getting a player with so much desire. It’s a huge decision for Paul. It’s probably the most important decision he will ever make in his career.

‘But at 32 years old [in March], what’s the club’s risk in taking him? He won’t get a lot of money because of what happened in the last two or three seasons. He will probably get a decent contract, but with a clause saying that if he can reach a certain amount of games, he can get a raise.

“I’m not sure big clubs like Arsenal actually have the guts to sign a player like Pogba. Remember what happened with some top players that join Arsenal, most of them have been a failure.

‘I’m not sure as well that signing Paul Pogba fits with the philosophy of Arsenal actually, especially after Edu walked out. It’s a gamble, but I’m not sure that Arsenal will take it. I’m pretty sure that some French clubs will be very interested in him.”

TIERNEY TO LEAVE –

It has again been claimed that Arsenal star Kieran Tierney has accepted that he is not part of the plans under Mikel Arteta and is trying to get himself fit for a move away in the January window.

tierney, arsenalAfter months and months and months of speculation, ARSENAL allowed Tierney to leave for Real Sociedad last summer after making the decision that he would not be part of the plans this coming season.

The Scottish International had a decent time over in La Liga – but he failed to get a permanent move to the Spaniards and there has been alot of speculation in the media about his long-term future at the Emirates.

Injury put an end to any chances of a move towards the back end of the transfer window and and the focus now is on the left-back getting himself back fully fit ahead of the January window.

He’s not in Mikel Arteta’s plans anymore. That’s been clear for a long time and Tierney accepts that

Tierney is a solid defender and a player could add some depth to that ARSENAL side if needed – but there will surely be a few clubs interested in him over the January window and the Gunners could use the money to help improve the side in other areas.

So if the reports are true and he is now looking to finally leave the club – it will be the very best decision for his career because he seems to be going backwards staying at the club – especially with all the quality that Mikel Arteta has in his squad right now.

But it will be interesting to see just where the man ends up.

ISAK TRANSFER MESSAGE SENT

Arsenal have been again encouraged to replace Kai Havertz with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, a player that the Gunners were reportedly very interested in signing during the summer window.

Since his move from Chelsea to ARSENAL, Havertz has improved alot over the past few seasons and is a man that Mikel Arteta relies on alot to lead that Arsenal attack, and as we said, he has done well since his move to the Gunners.

But that has not stopped speculation and rumours that Arsenal still need to sin a 30 goals a season striker in order to win that Premier League title, leading to suggestions that a future move for Isak could once again happen.

Isak, 25, has scored 3 goals in over 70 appearances since arriving at St James’ Park in 2022, with 21 of those coming in the Premier League last season and now reporter Iomie Stanley has urged Arsenal to sign the Swedish star.

‘It’s an interesting debate on who should be signed to lead that Arsenal attack over the next 3,4 or even 5 years.

‘I’ll hold my hands up and say I was one of the people who didn’t think Havertz was up to the task when he first signed, but he’s found a new position and style of play under Mikel Arteta and has become a vital focal point up front for Arsenal this season.

‘But ‘If ARSENAL can sign Isak from Newcastle as their number nine, that would be a perfect fit for all parties – even more so than Havertz as the big Swedish star is proven to be a 20-goals a season striker.

‘If the club want a long-term project and vision, he’d be an absolutely blinding fit and one that would help the club win that Premier League title for the first time since 2004.’

‘But as we said, Mikel Arteta knows who he wants, and it will be interesting to see who he signs.’
