Arsenal told 21-goal target Edouard is good enough to make Premier League move
Andy Walker says Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard is the best player in Scotland, and insists he could play for a top six side in England with Arsenal linked.
Now we all know that the summer transfer window is now open and it means that Mikel Arteta will be able to delve into whatever transfer kitty that he has in order to bring in some fresh meat to the club.
And there is a feeling that Arteta will improve the squad in the summer with a few top-class additions, as reports have suggested that he will have around £150 million in the kitty to improve his side in all the key areas of the squad that actually need working on.
Edouard hit 21 goals for Celtic last season as they claimed another League title, and his performances for the Scottish giants have linked him with many moves to the Premier League over the last few seasons.
Now, amid all the speculation, Walker has come out and claimed that Edouard has the ability to play for any of the top six sides in the Premier League, he told the Sky Sports podcast: “It’s an interesting one because he was the best player in Scotland last season. I think he could go and play for one of the top six, top eight clubs in England. I think he’s that good.
“Eventually, he will attract the type of figure that Celtic accepted for Moussa Dembele so it depends if anyone comes in with such a fee.
“If they keep him, they’ve got a much bigger chance of doing the 10 titles because he’s the best player in Scotland. If they lose him, who do you replace him with?”
Edouard is a very good striker and if Arsenal are ready to stump up £40 million to get a transfer deal done, then he would be a very good signing for the club.
