Arsenal lead chase to sign Madrid star, Gunners told powerhouse to make move, Arteta told to take advice from Tierney over signing
Guys here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news, gossip and transfer talk involving Sokratis, Gelebert and Edouard.
Arsenal are leading Premier League rivals Manchester United in the battle to sign Real Madrid teenager Cesar Gelabert.
Mikel Arteta is a man that knows that he needs to delve into his transfer kitty in the summer transfer window and freshen up the squad with the kind of players that are his, and not Enai Emery’s, who brought most of the players that are in the squad right now.
That has led to alot of speculation in the media over the past few months linking him with massive moves for some of the best players in the game, which has become very frustrating for fans as they know that those are the kind of deals the club need to make, but will most probably not sign.
But now it seems that Arteta is keen to raid Madrid for a bright talent, as Spanish newspaper AS have claimed Arteta’s side are ‘well placed’ to secure the signature of attacking midfielder Gelabert in the summer window.
Gelabert’s current deal is set to expire in June 2021 and talks have struck an impasse with the player’s chances of breaking into Zinedine Zidane’s plans thought to be slim, which has led to reports the likes of Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Lyon are all ‘keeping tabs’ on the 19-year-old’s situation.
But AS believe it could be a straight shootout between Arsenal and Barcelona, with the Gunners extensively scouting Gelabert for a number of months as they seek to bring in some fresh meat into the side.
Look, Gelabert is a very good talent that could go on to become a real star of the game, but he is really the type of signing that Arteta seriously needs to come in and send a statement to the rest of the Premier League that Arsenal are here to challenge? Probably not.
Charlie Nicolas has urged Arsenal to seek the advice from Kieren Tierney about possible signing Odsonne Edouard.
Despite the fact there is no football right now because of the cornavirus outbreak, that has not stopped speculation in the media suggesting that Arsenal will look to do alot of summer business in order to get their squad right for the star of next season..
And that has led to many reports in the media which has suggested that they are interested in a £60 million move to try and acquire the services of Edouard, who is making a real name for himself over in the Scottish Leagues with some outstanding performances.
**Do you have something to say about your club? Send us an article for discussion!**Sokratis Papastathopoulos is seriously considering his future at Arsenal and may leave in the summer.
There has been so much speculation in the media surrounding a number of players under the guidance of Mikel Arteta as the Spaniard seeks to get rid of the deadwood at the Emirates and freshen up the side, especially the back-line.
Arteta has done a decent job back at the club since he took over just before Christmas and has started to get the players playing how he would like, but there is still some serious issues at the back and he needs to spend money in order to stop the club falling further behind the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
And one of those players is Sokratis, who has never fulfilled the ability that many had hoped when he was brought in from the Bundesliga, and since Arteta has become coach, he has struggled to get the kind of game time that he would have liked.
Now according to journalist Nicolo Schira, the 31-year-old Greece international could leave the Emirates Stadium this summer:
Sokratis #Papastahopoulos could leave #Arsenal at the end of the season and is considering options ahead of the summer transfer window. He has seen his playing opportunities at the Emirates decrease under Arteta. #Gunners are looking a CB for the next season. #transfers #AFC

“Sokratis Papastathopoulos could leave Arsenal at the end of the season and is considering options ahead of the summer transfer window,” Schira tweeted.
“He has seen his playing opportunities at the Emirates decrease under Arteta. Gunners are looking a CB for the next season.”
Look, Sokratis has not been that impressive since his move to the Premier League just a few seasons ago and if Arteta does not feel that he is part of his long-term plans, then the Spaniard should let him leave.
If Sokratis wants to go, let him leave the club so he can find a team that will play him on a more regular basis. but if he wants to go…LET HIM!
